We had a horrible experience with this company! They send out subs that they have no control over and do not follow up with anything that is done wrong. They haven't reached out to me at all to even offer an apology for the horrible job they did and the damage that was caused to a new build with brand new carpet in it. I wouldn't hire them again if they paid me! I am copying and pasting my last two emails to them that explain exactly what happened. I haven't received a response to either email. The only time I received a prompt response from them was when they were sending me an invoice. -------------------------------------------- I've spoken to your office a couple of times since your guys completed our job on 9/3-9/5. They spilled some paint on the carpet in multiple spots - see pics - and missed a couple of areas where they should've painted. Miguel came back one and painted one of the areas and then left saying he had an emergency. Since then, he has contacted me multiple times to say he is coming but never shows up. Yesterday I waited over an hour for him. ---------------------------------------------------- I am writing this to update you on what has occurred since Sept. 14. After sending you my last email with the stained carpet pictures, I got a call from Miguel explaining how he has family problems and could I please let him come tomorrow (9/15) to clean up the carpet and finish up - this is after I had requested that your company send out someone else. I agreed and went the next day to meet him as decided. When I got to the house, some of the other subs there told me the painters were upstairs. I went up to find the bedroom door closed. When I opened it, 2 men and a child were lying on the carpet napping. They jumped up upon seeing me and said in extremely broken English that they were cleaning the stains. I asked if they were sent by Instyle and they said that Miguel had sent them because he was working elsewhere. I showed them where all the stains were in that bedroom and the media room, which they cleaned with a generic carpet cleaner they had brought. I told them that the city of Parker did not permit children [this child was maybe 3-4 yrs old] at construction sites as it was dangerous and he couldn't be there. The man went on to try to explain to me how his pregnant wife was at Parkland right now about to have a baby and that was why he had his kid with him. I then showed him all the areas where paint was missing on the doors and ceiling of the media room and on the wall of the bathroom, as well as where they had spilled paint outside on the pool decking. At this point he seemed very overwhelmed and did not know what to do, he said he was only there to clean carpet. He called Miguel and talked with him and then asked me to show him where the paint was. As I was showing him, he said that he had to go to the hospital and would come back in the evening. I told him the house would be locked up in the evening as it is every day. He kept saying he had to go to his wife and he didn't seem to know what to do. Ultimately I told him to go ahead and go. He asked me not to tell the 'company' because he didn't want to get in trouble. I asked him to leave for several reasons - I did not want to be responsible or liable for a child at the construction site, I did not want to be responsible for his wife not having him there with her at the hospital, and I didn't trust that he would actually know how to fix the mistakes. It seemed much more likely that he would have messed the job up even more. I am letting you know all of this not to get this sub-sub-contractor in trouble, please do not take any action against him. However, I do hold your company responsible for the subs you hire and would have expected that you would follow through on making sure that errors were corrected. All I see is one person shoving it off onto the next and no on really caring if the job was done properly. It is extremely disappointing as I hired you based on your Angie's list reviews. I would not hire your company ever again after this experience. In the end I had to pay another painter to come in and fix all of the things that your painters did incorrectly. The least you could have done was to acknowledge my last email - the only time I got immediate replies was when you were sending me invoices.

"Dear Naghae, Our goal is to make sure all customers are always getting our best and our 100% satisfied. However, what you did not mention is that you hired us to do one room and then negotiated separately and paid one of our painter on the side to complete the rest of the project. We advised you that we cannot be responsible for work that was not done and paid for by our company. Hiring painter on the side is what lead these issues and we apologized but cannot be held responsible."

We had our living room and three bedrooms painted. The two painters were nice and finished the job promptly. I'm not sure if they were just trying to finish fast or what happened but in every room there was paint drops on the carpet, on windowsills, baseboards and air handler. Edit to add: Since posting this review, I contacted the company with pictures and they set up a day for the painters to come back and correct any issues. This was very much appreciated and I will now consider using them again in the future.

They did a great job.  There was a little mix up in communication at first but once we got past that, all went very smoothly.  They used good quality paint and the attention to detail was superb.  I was very happy with the job and the painter.

They say when you hire a contractor you want three things: Quality, Speed and Low Price.  Unfortunately, you only get to pick two of those. I recently used InStyle Remodeling for a house I was flipping in Plano, Texas.  InStyle was able to give me all three.

The house had been a rental for 7 years and the previous tenants were not kind to my house.  There were many holes; walls painted with dark colors; all the doors and moldings needed to be replaced; the cabinets were greasy and needed to be painted and we had to get rid of 40-year old popcorn ceilings.  It was a pretty big size job considering it was only sheet rock repair and interior and exterior paint.

InStyle Remodeling was the lowest bidder, finished the job from start to finish in less than 4 weeks while working around my other contractors, and the house is absolutely stunning.  How stunning?  We had 55 scheduled showings in 48 hours and accepted a cash offer, which was 6% over asking price, on the second day.

Honestly, it was the fastest flip I've ever done that needed the magnitude of work that this house needed and InStyle was a big part of making my deadline.  Not to say the job didn't have its challenges.  I was not happy with the cabinets after they were painted the first time.  Ray and his team immediately came back, repainted the cabinets, and then went over the house with a fine-tooth comb, and fixed every problem, no matter how minute.  They were incredibly conscientious and didn't leave until I was completely happy.  I would gladly use them again for my next flip.

These guys were very good. I had no paint splatter on carpet or floors. The job was completed within 3 days. During the final walk through they corrected any areas were a second coat was needed. The team they brought was very professional and completed the job in a timely fashion. I would definitely hire them again.

The painter was very nice and professional.  He pressure washed, caulked, scraped and painted the exterior of my house over the last 3 days and it looks AMAZING!!  He made sure to let me know when he arrived each day and showed me what he was going to be doing and when he had questions he asked.   He did such a good job i would definitely recommend them to friends.

I needed my recently purchased 3 bedroom, 3 bath 1330 SQ house painted on the inside and possibly the outside. I called around and got a few quotes over the phone. When I spoke with Ray at inStyle, he had one of the lower prices but I just got the best feeling from him. After I met with him and got a hard quote about the inside I asked about the outside and it was very fare so I decided on the spot to go with the outside also!!

Ray was very professional and gave us non painting tips about the house also that were very useful since we were first time home owners. He kept everything clean always gave me updates on how it was going and when certain things would be finished. In the end we love every room and the outside looks perfect!!

I could recommend inStyle Painting more!! You wont regret it!!

I purchased the Angies List $1399 Exterior Big Deal.  Ray contacted me the same day and went over all the details with me.  The crew came out the following week and got everything done in 3 days.  I'm extremely happy with the outcome.  First they power washed the entire exterior, caulked all the siding, windows and trim.  Then they applied 2 coats of Sherwin Williams paint.  Afterwards they left me close to 2 gallons of paint for any touch up in the future.  The whole process was extremely smooth and well coordinated.  I'm very pleased with results and highly recommend the company.

I recently bought a 2-story house with high ceilings. The seller had an eclectic taste and had odd, dark colors in almost every room. The stairway had been done poorly. Re-painting the entire house was going to be a big job.
I called four of the top-rated painters on Angies List. All four responded. Only Ray gave me a sense that he was trustworthy. He responded the quickest, followed through the most (the others were hit-and-miss), and even called on his birthday, which was supposed to be his day off. His bid was the lowest, but I had a strong feeling that he wasn't going to add on crap after the contract to bump up the cost. I also never got a sense that he'd ditch me for a pricier job.
During his estimate walk-through, he was very clear about what paint he typically used, the sheen, and what the extras would be. Even better, I had control of the paint brand and extras. He also helped me pick paint for almost two hours and this was before I hired him. He was very patient. I wanted to get it over with and did not want to see the thick, paint chip catalog anymore. He didn't let me slack because I'd have to live with the decision for a long time. Although I did accept his recommendation for one color, all others were my choice (with a lot of guidance). He didn't try to push me paint that he already had in stock.
Ray and his crew got to work immediately. My house closed at noon. He was already there, ready to patch, prep, and primer. The next day, he had his associate, Tom, working along. I told them to take their time because I wasn't moving in any time soon. The job took a total of 4 1/2 days; many of the rooms required multiple coats and the front room - the one that had the darkest and ugliest colors - is big and high. Their extra care is evident in every room. Steve also touched up for free a lot of areas that weren't included in the contract. The lines are all clean. No splatter or splotches. The fee quoted at the estimate was exactly what I paid.
I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with Ray He's genuinely nice and easy-going. My mother dropped by to check out house because she was in the area. I was at the office, but Ray let her in and took her on a tour. Also, I had the carpets cleaned on the last day of painting. I was stuck in court when the cleaner arrived, but Steve helped out by letting the guy into the garage, which requires a separate key.
Ray had the full set of house keys for the entire duration. I had nothing to worry about.
I've been walking around in a daze for the past two days because the house is just so beautiful thanks to Steve and Tom. I'm including some before-and-after pics; you'll see the transformation.
I can't recommend inStyle Painting & Remodeling enough. I'll be working with them again.

I ordered before Christmas and was swamped with work and ended up scheduling them for mid February.  They set a date and I got an e-mail that they were available to start two days early.  My wife coordinated with the gentleman who did the work.  He caulked and prepared before the weekend.  I replaced some window trim over the weekend and he finished the first of the week.  Everything went smoothly and I didn't notice any leftover trash or paint spills or anything like that.

I selected inStyle Painting based on the great reviews they have on Angie's List.  The estimate was inline of what I received from other contractors but instyle seemed more professional and had much more review for me to compare from.

I'm very glad I chose instyle for my painting project.  They power washed the entire home first, caulked and filled in all crack and gabs and then even replaced a few rotten wood boards at no cost prior to doing the painting.  Paul and crew covered all areas and put 2 coat of paint around the house.

I'm extremely pleased with the outcome and will be sharing this great experience with all my neighbors

Arrived on their schedule. Several trips were made and we did not know when they would really arrive.  Owner never came by to review the work and would not return calls. Paint was quality. Workmanship lacked. Owner left me thinking he would come over and look at what I wanted prior to start of work and did not. My house size was smaller than his cost was supposed to cover and a patio area was just painted (3 walls 8'h x 15'w) due to some windows we had installed which in my mind reduced actual painting area even more. Discussed this with owner before I thought he would come over to negotiate some minor repairs and some 2nd color trim work.  He talked like changing out wood rot close to ground was common and covered with fill in wood.  None of this happened.  All they wanted to do was paint.  I had to show the painter where he had missed some painting on some parts of trim where he did 95% of it all and had attempted on the part he missed but did not get good coverage.
Sorry but if this is your A rated suppliers then you might look at what you call good or maybe I just need to lower my expectations.
This experience makes me question Angie's list.  I have always just chosen your "A" listings gone with one.  Now I will check several before I commit.

I had a very nice experience working with Instyle Painting team.
Ray and team repainted the entire interior of my home, top to bottom, as well as my front door and exterior brick at the front of my home. I have never hired a professional team to do painting work for me, so I was a bit nervous to say the least. This was a big job that I really didn't want to go wrong.
I was not disappointed, however. Ray responded to my first email right away and came by my home shortly after to discuss the job and my options. We agreed to a plan that evening and a contract was underway. I felt completely at ease working with Ray and I felt confident that I had made the right decision in choosing Instyle to do my painting job.
I absolutely love the new colors in my home and have already received several compliments. I never could have done this on my own, and I am so grateful for the work that Ray and his team did. Everything looks great!
Don't hesitate in choosing instyle to do your paint job. The price is good, Ray and team are great and easy to work with, and the work is top quality.

The worker was on time and professional. The paint job was terrible. His painting was very sloppy. He got paint on the fireplace. I can't clean that because of the type of material it's made of. He got paint on the hardwood floors, outside on the sidewalk to my front door and on the trim that I had just painted. The fireplace wall is a different color. He just eyed it and put up the tape so the lines are not straight. In some areas, the paint is not all the way to the ceiling. It's going to be a lot of work to go back and correct all this. Horribly sloppy work. It would have been less work for me to have just painted myself.

inStyle did a fantastic job from start to finish with us! Talking and emailing with Gary was super easy, he was incredibly responsive and got us going within a couple of days.
Paul, who was on-site, did an INCREDIBLE job and had a FANTASTIC attitude the entire time.
I've rarely had such a great experience from start to finish with most companies, but with inStyle, they were fantastic! I'd highly recommend them to anyone!

I needed help to repaint the common areas of a condo that I had bought and was renovating. The place was beautiful, but the color on the walls was GROSS (disgusting orange) and I wanted to make it look a little cleaner and more modern. I'm a strong believer in DIY, and would normally paint the place myself, but the ceilings were too high and what I wanted was too intricate. DIY is great if you can handle it, but you have to know when to call a PRO.

I called instyle painting and spoke with Ray. He was extremely nice, and came by at my convenience to have a look at the job and give me an estimate. I was on a VERY tight schedule, as I had to coordinate moving out of my old place with renovating and moving into the new one, and wanted the paint done before the new flooring went in yadda yadda yadda. I basically gave him a VERY small window. He completely worked with me, and the job was done on-time. His prices were also VERY reasonable, and they included the high quality paint he used.

Let's talk about the VERY HIGH quality of work. I wanted two-toned greys on my wall, and when he painted one area, I liked it so much that I immediately commissioned him to do more of my home. As we speak I am calling him to arrange for him to come back a THIRD time and paint the bedrooms. The work is quality, and the service is top-notch.

I cannot recommend instyle painting enough.

Love, love, love the work Paul and the crew did.  They started out by power washing the entire house to remove all dirt, gunk and flaky paint.  They then caulked and sealed all cracks and gaps throughout exterior.  Paul repaired a big hole I had in the soffit where the squirrels were nesting.  Then they applied 2 coats of Sherwin Williams Dura Craft paint.  The house is completely transformed and looks wonderful.  My neighbors are already jealous and asked for Instyle Paitning contact info.  Thanks again team Instyle!!!

We recently bought a house (3br/2ba) in the Plano that needed an aesthetic overhaul. The previous owner was a contractor, so the house is in tip-top condition, but the look of it was not our cup of tea. So, we called around and got quotes for the entire interior and exterior to be painted.
Long story short, Ray was the most prompt, responsive nicest painter that bid on our house. His pricing is very competitive and there may be some wiggle room in negotiations, but YMMV.
He gave a timeline of when he can start and when he will finish. His crew, like him, was prompt and respectful of our space (even though we weren't living there yet). For our kitchen cabinets, all the cabinet doors were removed and painted separately.
An important note, near completion of the interior, we had to have our hardwood floors refinished. For those that know, that is a very dusty job. While we communicated to both Ray and our flooring guy that we would need them to work together (we had a move-in deadline that we couldn't reschedule) to make sure the work gets done in time for our move in date. Our floor guy told us that he would clean up, but the clean up wouldn't be a deep cleaning. When we went to inspect the floors when he was done, everything looked relatively clean...some dust as expected, but nothing significant. Paint on the walls looked fine.
Well, it turns out that Ray had actually gone back to the house after the floors were finished and noticed that dust had gotten all over the freshly painted walls in the living room (this is the room that made the job take longer than expected, because more coats were needed to blend out the previous color completely). I don't think the paint was super wet--probably just enough for dust to be noticeable (I THINK).
Marcio informed us after the fact that he cleaned / touched up the walls, which is why everything looked fine when we went to inspect the house after the floors were done. He did this without asking for a dime because he cares about the quality of his work, despite it not being his fault. This revealed to me that Ray is a man of integrity.
All in all, the house looks fantastic, immaculate.
I feel he is one of the most underrated painters on Yelp, despite all the great reviews. Highly, highly recommend.
