It was a disaster. Had to call the man who installed the enclosure to come back out to repair. Had to change the glass door to be inline with the other aspects of the enclosure. Subsequently called to have one of the hinges adjusted and learned that the hinge was not to square with the door and the wall and made loud noises. Man did nothing for me and left. Terrible workmanship.

My wife and I decided to renovate and update in the master bath in our home here in Allen during June and July of 2017. We did a complete decommission of the then existing bathroom. The general contractor for the renovation recommended a glass contractor from Wylie but I deferred to Glass Contractors here in Allen for the frameless glass and hardware. This decision on my part has turned out to be a huge mistake. The basis of my decision had to with the fact that I had used Glass Contractors several times over the years. My wife and I have been in Allen for 33 years. However, during the course of the frameless glass installation, I found their work to be sub standard with several defects. I had the firm to come back out In the third quarter of 2017 to completely realign the door (it was installed crooked) and one entire side of the shower glass. This rework was much improved over the initial install but it is still crooked and I decided to just leave it alone. In the first quarter of 2018, the lower hinge of the shower door started to make a popping sound. Glass Contractors sent out another installer (apparently the installer that had installed my glass originally had been dismissed due to quality issues) and he sprayed some WD 40 on the hinge and gave my wife an invoice for $160.00. When I got home from work that same day I checked the door and it still popped. I called Glass Contractors and told them that it was still popping and I ordered a new hinge. In fact I ordered two new hinges because the screws in the installed door hinge are Philips head and the new hinges are hex heads. I paid for the new hinges out of my pocket. Glass Contractors made no attempt to assist me in resolving this issue satisfactory other than charge me more money for service calls. The hinges still pop! In any event, the new hinges are $40.00 per hinge and it is going to cost me a few hundred to have someone come out and straiten the glass so it is square and install the new hinges. So keep my experience in mind while shopping for glass. My guess is there are far better options out there than paying premium prices for sloppy and defective work.

These are two different custom installs that were ordered together. I had
priced these items with different contractors and this company was in the
middle. They returned my calls, (not all of them did) listened, and had professional
advice.
It has been about six months and thanks to the glass coating on the shower door
I still only wipe it down about once a month to polish off the spots. Sooo
easy. Especially when compared to the 20 year old glass I couldn't keep
polished. I spoke with someone else about the finish and she said hers is over
10 years old and sill just as easy to care for. Yea.

Glass Contractors was actually a sub of my original contractor - Lancaster Brothers. I told Lancaster I wanted a fully frameless glass shower enclosure for my master shower. I was told by Rick Smith (an employee of Lancaster) that no, that wasn't really what I wanted because it was too expensive and basically my house was not nice enough/expensive enough to have a frameless shower enclosure in its master bathrrom. So he had Glass Contractors install what they all told me was a SEMI-frameless shower door. For $1275. The enclosure was installed and it was fully FRAMED. And it was ugly. For $1275. When I called Lancaster to voice my confusion, they kept asserting that it was a semi-framless shower and that it was what I asked for. And if I wanted any of the frame removed that it would be another $690. I told Lancaster that was an unfair price. I told them that I should not have to pay more money for them to make the shower enclosure have less framing when less framing is what I asked for in the first place. Lancaster directed me to their sub who had installed the shower glass - Glass Contractors. If I wanted a lower price, I would have to contact Glass Contractors directly and work with them. Gracie from Glass Contractors and I finally got in touch over the phone. She told me the price was firm, she couldn't budge any more from $690, that she had already given Lancaster Bros. a $200 break on the price and she just absolutely could not come down any more on the price. When I asked her what kind of profit Glass Contractors was going to be making off of me if I paid $690 she said, "Ma'm, that is none of your business." I was in complete shock to be spoken to in that way by someone who was trying to do business with me. I find it completely unacceptable that a company would be so disrespectful to a client.
