Being a Holiday Weekend, I had problems reaching a local locksmith working over the weekend. I left a message for one that was close by and gave my home number, just in case. The next call I made was to Allen Locksmiths. When they said they could come out the same day, I was overjoyed! I told them I would call them back within the hour to confirm - had to re-arrange some appointments. I called back to make an appointment. He said someone would call me back and he confirmed my contact number. I asked if this was someone that would make the appointment OR if it was someone that would be 'on their way' to my house. He said they would call to let me know how far they were from my home. (?? )
Within 10 minutes, someone called. I asked who they were and they asked 'didn't you need a Locksmith?and quot; (duh?). he was about a hour away. Minutes later, someone (else) called and said they were 'Daniel'. I asked what company he was with and he said he was the locksmith I had called. Since I had already heard from 'Allen Locksmith', and no other locksmith had my number, I assumed he was the company I had left a message for before I contacted Allen. I told him that I was not looking for someone today - but may call him back for future locksmith jobs in the near future.
Immediately, Allen Locksmiths called and 'confronted' me on calling another company, etc... I said I had left a message for one company earlier in the morning. However, he and quot;Allenand quot; was the LAST company I had called. Then he told me that 'his' guy was the one I had 'put off''. I IMMEDIATELY apologized, saying I had been waiting for them. He continued the lecture on the ethics of calling multiple companies to do the same job. I tried to explain, but he got more 'heated' and really talked over me. It only continued for for about a minute when I felt very uncomfortable with this company. It was then that I said, well, let's just forget it -- at which time HE said and quot;goodand quot;, because you are not the kind of person I would want to.... [click]
Therefore, I give this company an and quot;Fand quot; in customer service. It was my mistake thinking he was from the first company I had called, nevertheless, he was the one that got personal, which is a number one faux pas in my book.
