Being a female driving in with an older car, it's always scary to wonder how much a mechanic could (and has) take advantage of me.  However of all the times that I took my car here, they were nothing but honest, fair, timely and thorough.  Mind you- it's not the glitzy autoshop with loaner cars, free bagels, comfy chairs and big screen TVs. However the fact they successfully fixed my car issues, again and again, without trying to sell me on unnecessary "fixes" for an older car is pretty priceless. I'd definitely recommend them!

Despite the work performed on my car in mid-April, I continued to have problems with starting of the car. Upon looking at it again on 7/22/14, they replaced the starter and tightened few belts (unrelated - to reduce the noise level from engine). It was good and I brought the car home.
The car wasn't used for about a month due to me traveling. 2nd day after my return, I had the same problem with car not starting. Given that I was out at that point, I had the car pushed to the nearest Firestone in the same parking lot. They charged me $90 to diagnose a bad starter. I told them to hold off the repair so that I could contact Allen Automotive.
I contacted Allen automotive on Monday when they opened and they decided to take care of the repairs at no charge to me. This included towing the car and replacing the part. I was TRULY impressed by their professionalism. When I went to pick up the car, they refunded me the money spent with Firestone. I understand all this will be covered by the starter part vendor, but I must appreciate their honesty in this entire process.
I am not taking my cars anywhere else any more. These guys have truly earned my business.

Everything was done in a professional manner without cutting any corners

I had a car that won't start despite the fact that Autozone had put brand new battery a week earlier (cost $115). Upon calling many shops, most were recommending $100 worth of diagnostic service, potential alternator change, electrical work etc.
I found Allen Automative Repair on Angie's list and decided to give it a try. They gave me an appointment two days out and had to get my car towed to them.
They diagnosed the problem to be corrosion on the battery terminals; cleaned it, checked alternator to make sure it was ok - all this for $47. I'd recommend them to everyone for their honesty and professionalism.

Replaced brakes and rotars. Honest and fair pricing. No pressure sales for additional repairs as with other repair shops.

We have a 99 Ford Taurus that is a problem child. (if you're a Taurus owner, you know what I mean). On two occasions, we had a heater core leaking. On a Taurus, the complete dash has to come out to replace the part. That is not something I know how or care to do on my own so I left it to the professionals. First I called Triple A on Ave K in Plano and they wanted $1200. Christian Brothers wanted $1000. I called Allen Auto and they quoted me $600. I nearly fell off my chair and had to ask a second time. I heard them correctly. They had the repair complete in 24 hours and it ended up being less than what they quoted. Everyone in Allen knows these folks and know what kind of quality repairs they perform. Give Allen Auto a try on your next repair. I'm certain that you will be pleasantly surprised.

They quickly found the source of the leak, called me with an estimate and had me back on the road on the same day. I have taken my cars to them for 10 years and have always experienced great service.

Whenever I need auto repairs, this is where I go. Everyone in the area knows it is the place to go. They are sometimes hard to get in to, however, because of how busy they are. They are extremely honest, family business.
