Great experience. Decided to try a repair vs. replace. The ABS team was quick to respond to my request for an appointment and clearly explained what the service trip/pickup would cost. Arrived on time and got a quote the next day. Okay’d the repair and got the TV back 5 business days later. It’s working great. I’d highly recommend ABS’s team.

TV was not repairable due to leaving it on for too long. We did that for our indoor dogs but Alex advised not to leave these flat screen TVs on for that long. My TV had burned places so it might have caught fire! A warning to others here. Anyway, they had some TVs for sale and found a nice Samsung 60" that fit the bill. I was able to use the service fee against the purchase price so that helped a little. Price and condition were good plus they delivered so I am totally happy with the deal and service. Friendly and helpful.

Alex arrived on Tuesday, took the TV back to the shop and delivered it on Thursday. The TV works as it should and I've very pleased. I have a 60" Samsung 3D Plasma tv that just stopped working. I checked the internet and everybody seemed to be able to fix their own TV but I decided it was to big an investment for me to spend $300 on parts and just hope. The TV was purchased in 2011 (7 years ago) for $2500 and has been great, good color etc., when it just stopped. I am very glad I called Affordable Big Screen TV Repair, and urge you to call when them.

Repair was complete. They did a great job of diagnosing and fixing the problem.

It was pretty expensive and I almost had to wait for the option of should I just buy a new one or pay the cost of repair. They didn't keep me informed so I had to call to find out what was going on. They weren't proactive. They were pretty prompt. They came out and got the TV and when they said they were going to deliver it they were on time.

Service tech arrived on time and methodically checked input sources to TV.  Problem was resolved to connection between Logitech (Google TV) and TV over HDMI cable.  Total time was less than 30 minutes.  Everything working fine now.

My Mitsubishi 72 inch big screen was getting snow on the picture.  I tried to fix it myself getting instructions on line and purchasing a new chip from a reliable on line vendor.  When I put it back together (several times) the TV was not working at all.  I finally decided I was in over my head and found Affordable Big Screen TV Repair on Angies List.  I called on August 29 (Saturday) and made an appointment for Monday.  Alex came out from Affordable.  The appointment was for noon and the doorbell rang at 12:01pm.  Since I was taking time off from work I appreciated the promptness of his arrival.  Alex decided to take the TV to his shop.  His office called my at 4pm that afternoon and gave me the price to fix the TV (approx. $400 which included the fee for him to come out and look at it. Since a new big screen of this size would cost at least $2,000 I authorized the repair. They delivered the repaired TV the next day (Tuesday) during the lunch hour.  Alex explained what he did to repair it, set it up and made sure it was working properly.  All in all it was a pleasure dealing with Alex and his company.  I would use them again as I found them honest, reliable and communicative.

Our 70" television (only 18 mos old) was dark on half the screen.  I called and they sent Alex out within 2 days to pick it up and take it back to his shop to take a look.  He thought it was probably that the front panel was out but ran full diagnostic tests to make sure.  His suspicions were correct and the front panel was out - a repair that would cost the same as a new unit.  We bought the tv on our Chase card which provides an extended 12 month warranty and Alex gave a detailed receipt that we submitted to them and even offered to let them call if they had questions about the repairs.  Chase gave us a full refund for the unit!  I was very pleased with Alex's professional advice and thorough explanation that aided in completing the warranty paperwork.  I hope I don't have to use his services with the new television, but would definitely recommend his company for those needing repair work.

My plasma TV was repaired quickly and for a reasonable price, but the customer service I received is what separates this business from others. I left a message about my broken TV and it was returned within an hour. Later that same day, Alex came to pick up my TV. I received a diagnosis the next day and approved the parts to be ordered. Once repaired, the TV was delivered by Alex, hooked up and working within minutes. I would definitely use this business again!

My mother and I both have LCD TVs that went out at the same time. When I
went to purchase new TVs I found out that the only TVs available are
LED, which in my opinion do not have as good a picture as the LCD. We
called Affordable Big Screen TV repair and Alex was out that same day.
The TVs were fixable and only $300 each. They were fixed in two days
time. Then Alex was kind enough to bring my mom her TV, set it up and
then bring my TV to my house and set it up.

One was fixed correctly the first time for $200 and was returned within a week (April, 2014). The other was also returned in a week, but cost $279 and had a problem that showed up immediately. They picked it up a couple weeks later (we couldn't get schedules to coincide) and kept it for over three weeks trying to diagnose it. They finally put a new control board in and returned today. Despite the additional costs associated with labor, pick up and deliver and the new control board, they charged NOTHING! While it may have been under warranty, most places would have said it was an unrelated problem and charged hundreds of dollars. These folks are the most honorable, high quality, prompt service professionals I've seen in many, many years!

Alex was very professional and prompt and took time to explain what he had to do in troubleshooting the issue that I was experiencing with my TV. He understands the technology and (I believe) that he made custom components in an effort to resolve the extreme waviness that my screen was displaying; since the parts are no longer available from the TV manufacturer. While his components removed the rolling waves in the screen, the color was a little off when using the cable box inputs, however, when using the DVD inputs the color was fine - so he took the board back to his shop and indicated that he would check to see if he could get the necessary chip to completely resolve the rolling wave and color requirements.
He returned with a different chassis, which apparently had a power issue, as with the replacement chassis installed the TV wouldn't power on....Alex put my original chassis back in and verified that the TV successfully would power on and then reconfigured my cables so that the cable box would display with the proper colors, unfortunately he stated that if I were to plug in the DVD player into the other inputs to the TV the color would not be right. But he did leave me in a situation where I can use my TV for 95% of what I would use it for - so I was very happy with that.
Ultimately, I couldn't be happier with the service that Alex provided. He was a true professional and I will recommend him to anyone that is experiencing issues with their big screen TV. Alex displayed industriousness, conscientiousness and dependability in performing the tasks of his trade.

They were very professional and did great work. My Samsung plasma TV made a loud "pop" noise and the screen went out. Alex picked the TV up from our house and explained that it was the power supply and the Y Processor board. He took the TV with him as he needed to order the parts. He also tested the TV for 8 hours before delivering it back to us. While I thought the trip charge was a little steep compared to others ($75, whereas one other repair service listed on Angie's list had a $39 trip charge. However, they were also farther away and their website indicates that since we are out of their regular service area would cost more, so, in fairness, it might have been the same).
We got the TV back and everything works great! We are completely satisfied.

Back in April of 2013 I used a TV repair company that I found on Angie’s List in which they have very high customer ratings here but my experience in using them was VERY unpleasant and a waste of my money and my time. So, after putting up with my HDTV problems for another 8 months and doing my own troubleshooting research on the internet, I finally contacted a second TV repair company that I found on Angie’s List which also has very high customer ratings. The folks over at Affordable Big Screen TV Repair.

I sent Affordable Big Screen TV Repair an IN DEPTH e-mail on Wednesday 12-11-2013 at 9:53pm letting them know ALL about the problems that I was having with my 55 inch Samsung Series 8 8500 model UN55B8500XF 240Hz LED HDTV that I purchased for $3,700.00 plus tax at a big box store in Plano, TX off of Plano Parkway and Hwy. 75 back in January of 2010. I also explained in my e-mail that I had a very unpleasant experience in dealing with my previous Angie’s List TV repair company 8 months earlier.

The next morning (Thursday 12-12-2013) Berenice from Affordable Big Screen TV Repair called me and we scheduled Alex to be at my house on Friday 12-13-2013 between 12:00pm and 1:00pm. She also said that there would be a service call charge of $75.00 dollars plus tax and that if any repairs were performed that the service call charge would be included in the total cost of the repairs.

Alex arrived on Friday 12-13-2013 in his repair van about 12:40pm neatly dressed. I walked him to where my HDTV was mounted on the wall in our living room and I started explaining all of the issues that I had been having over the past year and a half with this HDTV. I asked Alex if he had seen or read my initial in depth e-mail that I had sent to Berenice, but I cannot remember what his response was. We talked back and forth for at least 20 minutes and I felt like he understood what was going on with my HDTV. We both disconnected the HDTV and removed it from the wall and sat it down on the floor so that he could write down some part numbers from the back of the HDTV. We talked for a few more minutes then I wrote Alex a check for $75.00 plus tax and then I helped him carry and load my HDTV into his van…..(Now I want to make it clear at this point in my story that Alex never once asked for my assistance in getting my HDTV down from the wall or walking or loading my HDTV into his van, but when you’ve paid $4,000.00 for a HDTV there’s just something inside of you that screams “Please Let Me Help”….)

Before Alex left my house he told me that it would take a day or two for him to find out what the problem is and that Berenice (his wife) would give me a call the next day (Saturday 12-14-2013) or by (Monday 12-16-2013) to let me know what the problem was and what the repair cost would be……I received a call from Berenice late Monday evening 12-16-2013 to let me know what the problem was and what the cost would be. She told me that the T-Con Module on the video board needed to be replaced……(Now this T-Con Module problem description had never come up on ANY of my internet troubleshooting searches that I had performed over the past year and a half on this specific model so I was a bit concerned that Alex may have misdiagnosed the problem, but I was going to let this thing play out) so I went ahead and asked Berenice to please go ahead and order the parts as soon as possible and to please expedite the parts if needed. I specifically asked Berenice to Federal Express the parts and that I would pay for the shipping cost so that I would get my HDTV back before Christmas Eve because this was the only TV I have in my house and we had family coming in from out of town for Christmas. She told me that they would try to get my HDTV back to me by Tuesday 12-24-2013 on Christmas Eve. After I got off the phone with Berenice I immediately (within 5 minutes) sent her an e-mail to both of her e-mail addresses at ( [email protected] and [email protected] ) to go over the details and the specifics of what we had just discussed over the phone and requested confirmation back from her in writing but she never responded back to my e-mail. But this is not a big deal here to me.

Status entry update…..The date is Monday night 12-23-2013 at 8:00pm and I have not received any communications from Affordable Big Screen TV Repair since Berenice informed me back on 12-16-2013 of what the repair cost would be. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I am worried that I will not get my TV back in time.

Status entry update…. The date is Tuesday 12-24-2013 at 12:00pm and I just received a call from Berenice letting me know that my HDTV has been repaired and is ready to be delivered. I told her that she can have it delivered ASAP and she said that Alex will be at my house between 12:30pm and 1:30pm that same day. Alex arrived at 1:10pm on Tuesday 12-24-2013 with my HDTV. The HDTV was installed and running by 1:30pm. I will let it run for several days before I post this review.

Status entry update…. The date is Sunday 12-29-2013 at 6:00am and I have not had any problems whatsoever with my HDTV repairs from Alex over at Affordable Big Screen TV Repair. My HDTV has been working fine ever since Alex repaired it.

Affordable Big Screen TV Repair is the only TV repair company that I will use going forward in the future and I will make it a point to tell ALL of my friends, all of my neighbors, all of my co-workers and all of my family members that this is the ONLY TV repair company that they should use. They came out and took our TV to get fixed; and then brought it back to us when they finished. It took about a week to get it back, because they did have to order parts for us. They guy who came and got our TV and brought it back was nice and did a good job.
