SELECT PLUMBING

This is really a two part review. Part one—the work. The job was to do a pressure test on my sewer line and then to isolate for any leaks. This was done to my satisfaction. Part two—follow through. I was promised a drawing of my sewer system, so that I could show my foundation company that there were no leaks where they insisted that there were. I tried for nearly two months, contacting them several times by phone, to get Select to send me that drawing. Each time I was promised it would be sent within the week. Finally, I sent a letter but I still have no drawing nearing the end of April. If I had it to do over again, I would withhold partial payment until I got everything that was promised. I trusted them. My mistake.

It went great! They investigate with a camera and show you the pictures of the damage. They provide a very understandable estimate with a schematic of exactly what they will do. They handle the city permit and inspections and even have an engineer come and check the back fill before they close it up and replaced the side walk. The clean up was excellent. The whole process to a week because of an intervening weekend and waiting 2 days for the final city inspection.

Our 30 year old water supply line to our house sprang another leak (tree roots).  We called Select Plumbing whom we had used last year to do sewer line work for us.  They arrived the next day, assessed the situation, and recommended replacing and rerouting the water line for which they provided a quote on the spot.  They returned the next day and completed the work to our satisfaction. 

Following completion of foundation repair work, we had called a plumbing contractor (not Select Plumbing) to inspect and make repairs to the exposed sewer line.  We needed the work to be completed reasonably promptly so that the tunnels under our house could then be filled back in.  The first plumbing contractor we called was irresponsible, wasted a week of our time, our money, and never provided a timely quote.  We called Select Plumbing and they came out the next day, performed an inspection, and provided a quote that same day.  This involved repairs to some connections that were exposed by the foundation repair contractor, the digging of an additional tunnel and extensions to another, and then replaced a portion of the sewer line with a line that now runs outside of the house (buried but not underneath the foundation.  There were weather delays (workers are not permitted in tunnels when it's raining) but the work was done in a timely manner and completed to our full satisfaction.  They were very professional.

I have used select plumbing several times now. The are responsive to calls and do a great job.

The company came out and did a through investigation of the plumbing issues that they found. They provided us with an estimate and cost of repairs. They did the repairs in a timely ,courteous ,and  professional manner. They kept us abreast of issues that came up as they did the repairs. After finishing the repairs they retested the system. They were very upfront with us and gave a fair cost for the repairs done. I would gladly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I called Eddie wtih Select Plumbing.  As usual, they sent someone right away to detect the leak on the outside of our property.  They worked effectively and efficiently to repair the leak and get everything in proper working order.  We are always impressed with Select Plumbing and will happily refer them to anyone.  

Eddie ( the owner) came out several times during the work to keep me informed of the project. He explained what was encountered and how the repairs would be done. He was timely and pushed to get the job done. I had other quotes and he was less than the others and he stayed true to his quotes, no surprises. His crew was hard working and professional. He knew his business very well. If I have plumbing problems in the future I will use him again.I highly recommend him.

My experience overall has went very well. They are very professional and knowledgeable in their field. The pricing is a little high but I trust the quality of work they are able to provide. I would recommend this company to others if you are looking for leak repair.

Following the repair of the leak under our kitchen, Select plumbing did another leak test. Their leak test indicated the kitchen leak was repaired but they then said we had other leaks. They charged us $612 for this isolation test and said we now had leaks under our master bath and our hall bath. They gave us an estimate of $4,708 to repair them. YIKES!We then had the intitial company (Accurate Plumbing) retest for leaks and got a report of no leaks. We contacted the owner of Select, Eddie Santizo, and informed him that our home passed the most recent leak test. We told him that we were grateful for the initial repair and that we did not believe he deceived us, but that we no longer had leaks and that we wanted a refund of the $612 that we spend for the erroneus leak isolation test. He wanted to retest our home again, but we told him that we were not plumbing professionals and that the other company had nothing to be gained by telling us that we no longer had a leak. We repeated our request for a refund, but the refund was never made. The initial repair done by Select was professional and effective, but we belive the retest was inaccurate and the second repair estimate enormously expensive and unneccesary. We regret he did not refund the $612 and would not recommend his company because of this apparent bait and switch tactic.

Called Select and requested a call to deal with leak in drain. They responded immediately. Tested and found leak. Had to wait for area to dry before sealing cement. Came back and resealed. Had to work around shelving in janitor closet where leak was located. They could have cut through shelving but took extra precautions to avoid doing that.

They did a good job and we passed the inspection on the first time. They were careful with the grass so they could put the grass back in. They even put the grass in the shade and watered it while it was out of the ground. They did good work and were very professional. The owner came out and gave a price and stuck to it. The job was carefully done. I was very appreciative. Three weeks after you couldnt even tell that work had been done. I thought it was nice that the owner came back to inspect the work. For such a terrible problem they made it a very good experience. I called a couple of places and chose the most reasonably priced place. He came when he said he would come or else he at least called. I was never left wondering.

In repairing the broken hose bib it was determined that cutting the sheet rock underneath the kitchen sink to reach the outside faucet would be necessary. When installing the water heater they found that the existing plumbing would not reach the new, shorter water heater. Both of these complications were resolved quickly and with barely a 5% increase in the estimate. Another service call resulted in them telling me that I would need to hire a roofer. I was not even charged for a service call (obviously, because I am a repeat customer).
