During the sales cycle, Rick seemed very professional, honest and knowledgeable. He was the only GC that could provide a project plan on paper prior to starting. However, once the work started, things declined quickly. The crews said they did not have the materials needed. When I brought this to the attention of the owner of Bycon, Rick Byers, he disagreed. Rick did not hire the right crews for the right work as evident in the inspection report. Bycon did not adequately cover the main house to prevent water penetration and we lost a lot of drywall and have to repaint quite a bit. The best I could figure is that Bycon estimated that the remediation of the damage would cause him to lose money on the project. This was my worst experience with any service provider ever.

The carpeting needed to be replaced, and we salvaged what we could. The carpet company that he hired when ahead and ordered the new carpeting. He ended up not paying the company for the carpeting. I ended up having to pay for the carpeting out of pocket as well as paying for the salvaged carpet and clean up work. He was also supposed to clean the entire premises where they did work, but this was never completed because he disappeared. After all of this, I decided to be my own General Contractor and I hired sub-companies to finish this job. This ended up costing me around $3000.00 out of pocket. The paint job he did before he disappeared was peeling, we had to re-do some of his tile work, plus a lot more. I really want to warn people about this guy and his company. He hires really cheap labor to get the work done as quickly as possible, thus his work is inadequately done. He lies, he cheats, he does not return phone calls, and he does not complete jobs that he commits to.
