This report is in response to Angies List asking me to submit a report on my experience with Angies List.
The other job was 5 months ago.
I haven't needed my trees pruned again, in only five months; I will, however, use this company again.
I am pleased to give them my absolute top recommendation.

We were a little nervous about the firm: Although they did a magnificent job for us last year, the company had a new owner (Josh Anderson), and we didn't know him, wanted the same high quality of work for our beloved trees. However, he and I went over the job very carefully with us, making precise notes, and several excellent suggestions. He seemed to clearly know about trees, and we decided to hire them. Bottom line: They did a perfect job! I have ZERO complaints, and will definitely use them again.
The Story, Start to Finish:
We have eight large oak trees in our yard. Their shade is a blessing in Texas, but also complicates growing lawn, ground cover, etc.
Metroplex Tree Experts did a major pruning of all our trees a year ago, and did a magnificent job of opening up the and quot;parasoland quot; effect, allowing in enough sun to still provide good shade, but also to help our lawn (St. Augustine in front, Dwarf Mondo ground cover in back yard) become much healthier and vigorous.
We especially appreciated how they pruned the trees to make a showpiece of the and quot;structureand quot; of the branches and trunks, and to raise the canopy for us, also allowing more light.During the year since that pruning, the trees had put out some and quot;sucker branchesand quot; on the major limbs, and the canopy had filled in a bit more than we wanted, so we decided to call them for a thorough and quot;cleanupand quot; and reopening.
Only five trees actually required work this year, but a couple of larger (and high!) branches had died and needed removal. Josh went over the work carefully, understood exactly what I expected, and clearly and quot;got itand quot;.
His two and quot;cutters and climbersand quot;, Joel and Michael, showed up just a little early to review the job with me, and they clearly got good instructions from Josh. I was especially impressed that they DO NOT CLIMB WITH SPURS which previous service had done and damaged trees, but they used safety ropes and harness, and were very careful to ensure their SAFETY in every respect. (In a previous instance with another contractor, I finally had to fire the firm on the spot, because someone was going to get hurt!)
Joel and Michael checked with us over a few minor things concerning our preferences on specific cuts, limbs, etc., and were delightful to work with. When they had finished with the pruning itself, they THOROUGHLY cleaned up the yard, and left it impeccable.
NOTE: Ever since their first job, we have actually had people stop by and ask who did our trees, and ask for contact information. Also, we have referred friends and family to them, and all have been as happy as we are with Metroplex Tree Experts.
Also, Josh proved to us that the firm still does the same ultra-high quality work we experienced previously.
