BURNS LANDSCAPE AND NURSERY

I frequently go to Burns Landscaping to purchase plants.  The staff is always helpful and the plants are always healthy.  My husband & I wanted to have a flower bed created in our backyard with plants that would provide privacy.  Sean called me right away and came out to look at the area.  He did a rough drawing and offered some ideas.  He then passed that information onto Melissa.  She called and I met her at the garden center to make selections.  Her team arrived within a week and wrapped up the project within 2 days.  Everyone was extremely professional.  They did an excellent job from delivery, to planting, to clean up.  My husband and I couldn't be happier.  Thanks Burns!

It started off as a good interaction with the guy. After we got the estimate, it was hard to get in touch with him. I don't know if he ended up leaving the company or what, but the communication just dropped. The estimate was $200. The guy initially showed up on time and the work/process was good. The punctuality was good in the beginning. We would consider buying landscape from them but we probably wouldn't use them for landscape design.

They were great to deal with! They kept appointments and would notify me in advance if there was a delay or follow up with a quick email if there was a delay in getting me a design.

We needed a complete design that could be done in phases over a two to three years. We interviewed other designers and they were either more expensive or too casual with their process.

We selected Burns and they did an amazing job. The design is rich with color; texture and interest. Just the right amount of beds/mulch and river rock and the shrubs were the right number allowing the beds to seem full the first season!

We worked with Sean he was their designer and he had great ideas and also listened to my wants and my feedback.

Would definitely use them again for a design project.
We have received lots of great feedback from our homeowners about the design.

Initial plans were interesting but we wanted the work done more than they did. I just couldn't get a return call and had to keep calling. I finally got tired of trying to give them money and moved on.

We had a plan created by their landscaper designer.  After seeing the design, we were sold on the entire project.  They worked with us on the budget and some minor changes.  When the actual work started, their crew was prompt and efficient.  The job was satisfactorily completed in less time that was estimated.  (Probably due to weather cooperating.)  Will definitely use again.

I have used Burns Nursery for landscaping and also purchased plants and did it myself.  Always good quality.

Very, very professional service from start to finish. The job required 2 weeks total. The Burns were prompt in returning phone calls at any time of day and even at night with our questions. They were very flexible with our requests and changes and eager to please.

As I mentioned above - it went great from start to finish.  Once the plans were complete, the designer (Sean) and I met and walked through the entire plan, discussing plant selections and possible changes.  He was very helpful with understanding when I wanted to make a change and gave me recommendations on what plants might also work in that particular space.  The design was well balanced; colorful with lots of texture with plant material.

We purchased the three oak trees at the Fall Home and Garden Show in the Alamodome, where Burns had a booth (the trees were actually on display).  We asked Travis to pick out a cedar elm for us back at the nursery so we wouldn't need to go there.  Returning phone calls to set up delivery took a bit longer than expected, but they were probably swamped with orders from the home show.  Delivery and Installation was scheduled for the following Saturday. They arrived in the early afternoon and were on location for a few hours. I had previously made some holes (with a jackhammer - it's the hill country, after all) thinking I would be planting 15-gallon trees, so they just had to be enlarged to accommodate the 30-gallon trees.  They did a nice job planting them, and the trees are doing well so far. I could have probably found the trees cheaper, but I'm satisfied with what I got for the money.  Installation cost was a bit high considering I'd already done half the work, but at least I got it done and I'm not procrastinating anymore!  Should have done it years ago...
I would definitely consider them for future work, and may get some estimates from them for additional landscaping.

Melissa and her crew came out and planted all the pots.  They were very professional, did a great job and cleaned up beautifully. The pots loook beautiful, and I cannot say enough good things about Melissa.  She is a delight to work with and got back to me on each step of the project very quickly.

The cost of the pots was $3,274,  and the cost of the plants, materials and labor was $1,542. The total was $4,816.

Everything went well and it was done in a reasonable amount of time. They were on time and the only thing that my husband noticed later at looking at our hardscapes was that the granite that they used may not have been the best quality. They dug out some beds and did some edging. They brought in the dirt but didn’t do any of the planting. They did do a landscape plan for us. It was a drawing with plants outlined. The one problem with that is that I gave them a list of plants that I wanted to use and a list of plants that I currently have and I wanted to transfer to beds.  They used a very small percentage of those plants and they put in a lot of plants that the designer himself particularly liked rather than the plants I requested.  We didn’t plan for them to do the planting but we did want the design work done to get some ideas. They did give us a lot of ideas for plants that we were not aware of.  They gave us pictures of plants to know what they looked like. From that stand point it was very beneficial to have the design plan. We did like a lot of their suggestions. 

Burns Landscaping was very responsive throughout the entire process.  Travis and Greg examined the area to be landscaped, and gave me a quote within 24 hours.  Work began within 10 days, as Rudy and his crew tore out the old grass, and replaced one patch with mulch and a beautiful river rock pattern.  My other bed was expanded to the property line, using decomposed granite and metal edging.  All work was done the same day.

I found the staff there more than willing to listen and also to recommend changes to my plan that made sense, especially in light of the current drought.

Burns Landscape and Nursery did a fair job. Overall, I would never refer them to anyone. He installed the system okay, but had no follow up at all. He put several water heads in the wrong place. They spray on our porch. When we called he wouldn't return our calls and wouldn't come and fix them. They are getting a bad reputation in our community.
