Debra Fitzhugh was wonderful - she really knows her stuff - she knew the best options for me and didn't try to oversell me. She clearly explained the different options, colors, materials and took detailed measurements and provided me with a very well done proposal. I loved working with her and will definitely have her back to do more installations in our closets. The quality of the install and materials is also very high.

First off we're satisfied with the finished product. However they seem to have some manufacturing issues as they installed deco doors in the closet uppers that were manufactured upside down (we later found out that this was a running joke at their staff meetings). There was also a piece of the closet that wasn't finished and had to be re-engineered. We signed the contract on 27Aug and they didn't complete the closet until 19Oct. Same for the pantry: on the install day we were minus one wine scallop so another appointment had to be scheduled to complete the panty on another day. So we had to make time for 4 install days rather than 2. Other than the manufacturing issues and the indifference to our schedule everything went well.

Our designer Debra from Closet By Design was terrific. She was very easy to work with and went out her way to help us get our dream closet designed and installed. The installers showed up on time and were very professional. After the installation they cleaned up everything and it was ready to go! We are very happy with the quality and service from Closet By Design and would highly recommend.

We had used Closets by Design previously so it was natural for us to call on them again.
The first project completed by Closets was the flooring and cabinets in our garage. The flooring is the newest thing on the market. A hard plastic design that comes in 12" x 12" pieces which are secured to the garage floor so they don't move when driven on by our cars. I'm 66 years old and fully expect the floor to out last me. It is beautiful and I always get the 'wow' factor from visitors to our home.
The cabinets in the garage are just as attractive as the flooring. I don't know how Closets does it but they build the best looking, durable cabinets you can buy unless you want something industrial - which may not be as attractive. And Closets makes the cabinets to meet the customers specific wants and needs. And Closets always comes up with ideas and designs to help their customers get more efficient use of their cabinets.
The cabinets, shoe shelves, hanging sections for clothes, and anything else one can imagine for a closet are right down Closets alley. Closets by Design can do it all when it comes to cabinets - design, manufacture, and install whatever their customer wants. and they do it better than anyone else.
If you want beautiful cabinets or floor for your garage, or cabinets for your closet(s), and don't want to have to worry about quality of workmanship or installation, and want a product you will be proud to show off for years to come then don't call anyone else but Closets by Design. Closets by Design came and helped me design a closet that fit exactly what I needed. The designer came at the promised time and was very enthusiastic and helpful in the design. This was my first ever renovation since my move to my new home so I didn't know what the other competitors' prices were and thought it was a bit steep. But I appreciated the process and professionalism so decided to go with them. The installation date came and they gave me an arrival window of 12 to 4 which I thought were a bit wide.. and the installation crew arrived 10 minutes to 4. The installation process was pretty straight forward and surprisingly quick (almost less than an hour). They made sure all my floors were covered and cleaned up after themselves. But I did over hear during the installation one of the crew saying, "well, it's good enough for government work!" which wasn't something I anyone wants to hear but not sure what to look for... Overall, great sturdy looking closet.

From the initial meeting for design and estimate it went really well. Price was reasonable and the quality is very good - even including the exact drawer pulls that I wanted. They were easy to schedule and the installers were very professional, quick and left the place clean. I am very pleased with the results.

My installation not until 1 month after, which i wanted to be sooner. However, they said they are very busy. I waited and did get a call 4 days before my appointment a month later. They left me a message of reminding me and said will have a followed up call for the time frame that they will come. No one else called me before the date, so i call them to double check and requested the time (morning / afternoon). The installation day, 2 men shown up, professional, polite and finished the job in 2 hours. I am impress and happy for the product. One improvement that may call customer and let them know the time frame? Overall, no concerned otherwise. Price is a little higher then i expected but good quality bookshelf.

I first met with a designer that measured and gave me ideas. She gave me the price and options right away. No pressure and no hard sales tactics. I had other companies that also came out and compared prices. They were the best price. They came a month or so later to install. Very professional and fast. I would recommend it, and I would hire this company again. I just don't have any more closets!

Jessamy, the designer was great. She made multiple trips to the house to measure and design the best use of our space. The pricing was confusing. In the end they responded to competitive quotes with a reasonable price but started higher than the competition. Watch for coupons. We could have saved significantly had we waited an additional week when a coupon was published. The process felt a little like buying a used car.
The shelves and cabinets work very well but two follow trips were required to fix bowing at the bottom of one long set of cabinets. The company stood behind their work and the installer was professional and punctual for all trips. Overall a good job with a couple of hitches. We would use this company again because of the great design and professionalism but would be careful to address the pricing early on in the process.

The sales rep was very professional and did a good job of providing designs and quotes. It did take the installers a while to find our house, but they did a great job of implementing our designs once they arrived.

The designer came to my house once and measured everything. After her design was complete, I met her at the showroom, to discuss specifics. I am glad I did that because I saw some small hardware components that I had not considered before, but which added to the functionality (slide out belt holders and valet rod).
The morning before the re-design, I had to empty out the closet. The contents filled up our spare room.
The installation team arrived on-time. They brought the pre-cut components, and tools needed to edit them onsite, if needed. They removed the existing components, which I decided to keep (the coated wire shelving is not cheap and I can use it elsewhere).
I had to go to work, and my husband had no clue about my design specs. When I returned home that night, I had a closet that held a lot more clothes (two seasons) plus an assortment of workout equipment ( dumb bells, BOSU, small folding weight bench) that had previously been stored in the middle of the closet floor and had to be moved to access my clothes.
Now I can see the contents and access everything easily, which is a life-changing event. I am very happy I hired Closets by Design for this small project.

We called three companies list on Angie's List and requested both a design and bid from each. All companies had similar products and designs, however we seemed to feel most comfortable with Debra from Closets By Design. Besides being punctual, she offered her experience and listened to what we wanted and needed from a functionality and aesthetics perspective. She was at our home on Friday following Thanksgiving walking through our design changes - as she knew timing of this project was critical. We highly recommend Debra from CBD.

The product cost more; but they gave us a specific date. They came in and did it, when needed it to be done. They gave us actual date and time very quickly. They have a competitive price. The representative is very good. He was one of the best representatives we had. We liked his responsiveness and his ability to give us a certain time, when they can get the job done. Everything about them was wonderful. They were right on target. They are very flexible. They are not the cheapest; but they are really good. The quality is terrific.

I originally decided to go with them because they could fit my schedule and the price was competitive for the work. The work was fine but I had trouble with the scheduling. They didn't give me a window of when they were coming and the window that they generally gave me was different from what they told me the day before so there was a little bit of confusion on the timing. They need to work on giving a firm scheduled time on when they are going to be there. I was not happy with the customer service. The people that did the work were fine but I felt like the people in the office were not able to communicate effectively. I would not use them in the future.

"At Closets by Design we strive daily to provide excellent customer service. Our goal is to under promise and over deliver. To that end we ask that our customers schedule installations anticipating a full day whether the job requires a full day or just a partial. The day is scheduled in advance with the customer's confirmation. Our office provides a reminder call one week before installation. The day before the installation our office calls with a "window of arrival." Our installers service the entire Metroplex from our Addison location. The drive to the installation could be as short as 15 minutes or as long as an hour and a half. Of course, weather and traffic conditions also play into the commute time. Our goal is not to aggrevate clients, in fact, our installers call clients 20 minutes before arrival to allow customers to go about their day and not feel like they have to wait for arrival. We do our absolute best to accomodate everyone's hectic schedule and do understand our client's are busy people. When a customer asks for an exact time the installation will be completed, it is a very difficult question to answer. Every job we install is custom so every job is different. While we have a general idea how long a job will take, and have scheduled it accordingly, we are very unable to give an exact time of completion. We are happy this customer was pleased with the final product and regret she was not pleased with our scheduling process."
