Mike Thorton grew up in Oregon working in forestry while in high school, and came to attend Abilene Christian University as a pole-vaulter. He earned a degree in Education, specializing in Physical Education. I taught school for ten years while doing landscape maintenance in the evenings. I have now been in the tree business for 24 years. We have 4 skilled trimmers that can handle any job. Each trimmer has their ground hands that cleans up and chips. The owner and foremen do all the cutting, and the additional members work as Ground Crew. I have used Thornton's Tree Services on several occasions over a period of 4-5 years. Each time the job is done to specifications & price determined in the initial estimate. They do the job quickly & efficiently with excellent clean-up. Won't hesitate to call them for the next tree trim or extraction.

The owner responded quickly to my call and came to my home the same day for an estimate. I am not accustomed to hiring a tree service so I can't compare his prices with another company's rates. Though high, the price seemed fair so we hired his company. They showed up as promised and did the work quickly. The quality of the work is where this company shines. The dead limbs and trees were removed and they cleaned up after themselves. They even removed some debris that was scattered in the area by the wind and disposed of that too. All in all, I would have to say that this is a great company. I think we made a great choice.

Provider was running a bit late and called to tell us he would be over shortly. They arrived within 5-10 min. and immediately told us their plan to bring down the tree. The owner stayed and removed branches himself as other workers cleaned up the debris. They were always courteous and worked constantly while they were here cleaning up and using the chipper/shredder. They went to lunch and returned to grind the stump and hauled off all logs. They completed the job, thoroughly cleaned up the mess and left the yard neat and clean.

Thornton's Tree Service does a very professional job. They have a very good team and Mike Thornton makes sure his team is on board with what the owner wants. They work hard and have been doing this for many years. Their fee is competitive, plus they offer a 5% discount to Angie's members. Their experience shows in their quality of work. The tree canopies will be symmetrical and look very good upon completion. They will leave your yard clean and free of debris. You will not be disappointed.

Came early because we had to leave for another apt, explained what would happen and approximately how long it would take. Workers were very informative and well mannered. They took the time to explain about the service & the free life. These guys were really great. They even had their kids visit with my Sophia.

The job was performed very quickly and efficiently despite the hot weather and all cuttings were placed in their chipper for disposal.The price is a bit steep for an hour and a half of work but there were three men in this experienced crew and they did accept my Angie's List coupon.

They are not the lowest price but they are great on quality of work. They did the job fast, great and did what they said they would do. I highly reccomend them. I wouldn't call anyone else

The owner arrived when he said he would Saturday morning to give a quote - he was very helpful and explained the best way to trim the tree. We quickly scheduled the service for the afternoon and the workers showed up as scheduled and worked very fast. They were also very good about being sure that the tree was done the way we wanted before cleaning up. They left the yard as clean as it was when they left and were very professional.
