The fire Escape

Chimney inspection Due to severe weather, they called to reschedule. Showed on time, courteous service, thorough inspection of our fireplace. Highly recommend them.

I called Fire Escape to ask them to clean my chimney and to install a cap on my chimney as these items were specified by the buyer of the home in the sales contract. I mentioned that the buyer was also requesting repairs to the mortar on the chimney. The person I spoke with mentioned that I should get an inspection so I agreed. When the person arrived at my home, he took a flashlight and looked up the chimney then went on the roof and looked down the chimney. This took no longer than 10 minutes. When he came back in, he informed me that the chimney had two cracks in the flue and would not pass inspection. When I asked him about cleaning the chimney and installing a chimney cap, as this is what I asked them to do, he stated the chimney did not cleaning and that installing a chimney cap would not make sense because the chimney needed an insert that would have its own chimney cap. So, they did not complete the work I contacted them to complete but did charge me $75 for a service I didn't ask for. I contacted somebody else to clean the chimney and install a chimney cap.

They came out and installed the damper caps quickly on our 100-yr.-old Victorian house chimneys. Chains drop down the five chimneys so we can open and close the dampers.
