We could not get anyone to respond to our questions as to when we could expect the lamp or what the holdup was.
Description of Work: We bought a lamp. It was defective. They ordered another one and it was May before we got it.

1st:::They promised a 2 week delivery and a discount for payment of cash upfront. Then they offered the "cash" discount for any form of payment, which totally negated the explanation that we were given justifying the "cash" discount. The prices are very fluid and the process seemed like a shady used car dealership. 2nd:::Ashley's Corporate Office called after more than a week, perhaps closer to 2 weeks, to confirm my furniture order. Why would they need to do that? It seems as though they did not start to process the order until that time. 3rd:::Ashley's local store called to tell me that the furniture store would not deliver my order until 6 weeks after taking the order. My family had just returned to the US after a 10 year foreign assignment. We did not have any furniture. We could endure 2 weeks; however, it was too much to ask us to wait for 6 weeks after I paid the extra $65 for delivery. We were not a happy family. 4th:::I had to call the Ashley's store to get an update on the status of our order after 6 weeks. Then I was told that it would be an additional two (2) weeks until the order would be delivered due to the warehouse processing orders that might have come in ahead of mine. When I asked if it was normal for a 2 week delivery to be extended to 8 weeks, she cheerily said yes and that it happened often. I could not pretend that I was okay with the situation any longer. When I told the agent on the phone that this would be my last order with Ashley's, then she told me that I could call the warehouse myself and check if my order had come in and when I could schedule a delivery. It further angered me that they would not call me to let me know that the order had arrived at the local warehouse. I was forced to call myself after waiting an additional 4 weeks. When I did call, the delivery dispatch was not even in our local area, but 3 hours away in Lubbock, TX even though the warehouse was just a few miles from our house. I was told that we would have to wait an additional 3 days for the warehouse to get to our order number as there were others chronologically in front of our delivery. It finally arrived with scratches on the legs; yet, I do not dare ask any more because I do not want to wait any longer nor have anymore contact with Ashley's Furniture Stores.
Description of Work: They sold a new sofa, chair and a half, and ottoman set with delivery service.
