The estimate he gave was RIDICULOUS! He wanted to charge me over $10,000 for small misc jobs whose material would run around $50 and would take about 2hrs to complete!!!I'm not sure if it was because I was a woman or he just thought I was that uneducated?! He made the small jobs sound like they were MUCH worse than they were. For instance, to replace the subfloor under a refrigerator and put down about 6 12x12 vinyl tiles (which I already have) became having to replace the floor in the kitchen and hall, the drywall on 2 walls and replace all vinyl and shoe molding! Another example: grinding out mortar from 4-6 bricks above the garage door(only 1 side of the bricks mind you - a fifteen minute job at best) and replacing the mortar became a structural failure which by his tone you would think my house was going to fall down if it wasn't fixed ASAP. The same crack that has been there for 10+ yrs. And the last part of his "quote" was to replace 2 gates, hinges, latches and 2 shed doors, which I asked for a couple of planks to be replaced and the gates' hinges and latches replaced!!! His quote came as an email to which I readily replied to that it was way too high for what actually needed to be done and this was his reply back to me: "Very good, tks for wasting our time; "seems ridiculous ", I agree, you should have been there if you cared. Very nice tenants that expect reasonably nice accommodations. Appears like slum lord budgeting will let the house devalue. Best of luck, please don't contact us again" How professional!!! I don't know how this guy stays in business. Stay away from this guy. My $500 job became over $10,000 then he sends NASTY emails when you don't let him screw you over
