I started going to Dr. West about 5 or 6 years ago when I adopted a dog who was heartworm positive. I spoke with a dozen Vets about heartworm treatment options before settling on Dr. West. I wanted someone who would look at all options due to the seriousness of clots dislodging, etc after the immticide treatment. Dr. West was one of only two Vets from that dozen that commonly considered the different options (slow versus fast kill) and then recommended a treatment based upon the x-rays and bloodwork.

Since then he and Dr. Sanders have addressed many other issues including everything from skin tags, acl surgeries, teeth cleaning, shots, infections, cancer treatment, etc. etc. etc.

There is a reason we have been going to Cascade since shortly after I moved to Tennessee. Dr. West, Dr. Sanders and the staff have always been very helpful, understanding and educational. They understand the bond some of us have with our dogs and I've never felt like we were just a number. They take the time to explain the what and why of everything they recommend and they have very competitive pricing to go along with the excellent service.

AVOID THIS VET due to overcharges. I used Dr West for a farm call, and he seemed nice enough, is actually very good with animals, but then it ended in holy terror. I had gone over all the prices in detail on the phone PRIOR to his visit, getting the prices from his office mgr Ashley. I got the worse case scenario price as well, so I knew what I was up against. He did the work, said they would bill me, and when I got the bill, it was 70 dollars over what she quoted!!!!. Months before this farmcall, Ashley went over the prices, then says to call back at which she says, no, he does not service this area. Then when he was at this farmcall, he said yes, he does service my area. Ok people, make up your mind. Gave him a 1 star because they tell you one thing on the phone and is another when they get there, and the protocal was exactly what I asked and was quoted on the phone!!!!!!!!! Here is the kicker: When I got the bill and saw that I was overcharged $70, this nightmare receptionist says the vet is not going to see me again. All because I simply asked about the overcharge. Her demeanor is what I consider extremely arrogant, as if someone got a control freak in their office where the customers are treated as a criminal and everything is the customer fault. Basically what she said is he charged me to talk to him or ask any questions.... WTH!!!! this is unbelievable. I never heard of a vet charging to ask basic questions. Also turns out he recommended Questplus for worming for mini-donks which EVERYONE who breeds says not to use. I asked the receptionist to have the DR call and he never called. Rude ! Honestly, I would of given 5 stars until the super bad reception I got which turned the whole experience into a nightmare. That people are actually this disrespectful of others always turns my stomach !!
