Enchanted Cottage In The Woods

We were supposed to have this cabin rented for the week of 1/15/2011 - 1/21/2011. I had paid in full $525.00 by check prior to our vacation. The day before we left Tawnya (the owner) emailed me to tell me the weather was fine and that everything was set for us to get there. We arrived after 7pm to find that this handicapped, level entry cabin was 2/10 of a mile up the side of a VERY STEEP driveway and that our mini van was not able to get up to the cabin. We called Tawnya and told her of our dilema, & she told us to WALK to the cabin. We had my handicapped mother inlaw with us so there was NO WAY she could WALK up that slippery slope. I tried, and it was too icy and steep. Tawnya and her companion would not even attempt it in their 4x4 either. We were not able to stay in the cabin, as we were not able to even GET TO THE CABIN... Tawnya verbally agreed to a full refund, and even wrote on the back of her own buisness card she would be mailing one to me. ( I also have several emails from her stating that my refund would be coming..) We then had to find another hotel to stay at and pay a second time for our accomodations. A month and a half passed and I again contacted Tawnya about the refund.. She then sent me an email saying that they are going BANKRUPT on this cabin and that I would not be receiving a refund at all. Now if they are going bankrupt on this cabin, why are they still advertising it for rent? DO NOT RENT THIS CABIN!! IT IS A SCAM you will lose your money. ESPECIALLY if they are filing bankruptcy. She will claim that her rental agreement states they are not responsible for inclimate weather ( really who is responsible besides God for the weather).. but they SHOULD be responsible for plowing out the drive and making the cabin accessible. Besides, she has no signed contract by me! BEWARE OF THIS CABIN AND TAWNYA JOHNSON... she is lying one way or another, because either its not in bankruptcy, or she just flat lied about the refund. (beware she has more rental cabins than just this one too! )
