The water dept told me the water usage for the last 30 days was more than the normal usage. My son and I checked the inside of the house; toilets,water heater,sinks and also under the house. My son looked at the meter and it was full of water. My son looked at me and I hate to tell you this but you're going to have to call a plumber. This is beyond my expertise he told me. He also said it could be quite pricey depending on the work. I knew of a local plumber here in Portland and I called. I explained my problem to Jeff Brown and he said yes it could be expensive starting out at $400. He told me he would come by and check it out and let me know. When Jeff called me back and gave me the news I was doing a little dance! He didn't have to dig out the meter box! Yay!! It was some kind of a bolt that he could tighten and "voila" fixed!!!
