Handyman Service
They were supposed to put vinyl siding on our house. The owner, Brian Morris, promised my wife that he would be doing the work himself. That was important to her because she knew him somewhat and trusted him. I paid half up front. He pulled all of the siding off of the house then disappeared for two weeks. He never answered his phone, never returned phone calls. I found out later from one of his crew that he had tried to farm the job out to someone else without telling us and they apparently "lost" our siding. Finally Brian's crew showed back up and worked a few days, then they started showing up once or twice a week and working for an hour or two then leaving. They never delivered all of the siding, they would bring the two or three pieces with them that they were going to hang that day. And the quality of their work was poor. They nailed the siding on too tight, didn't get things level, etc. They went on like that for about 6 weeks and got about 1/4 of the house done. Brian continued to not answer his phone or return phone calls. Finally we got fed up with it and I left a message saying that I wanted some of my money back and not to come back to the house, and I haven't heard from him since then. Also, after they left I called an electrician to rehang the circuit breaker box that Brian had taken apart and left hanging and the electrician told me that leaving the box like that was stupid and dangerous, and whoever did it had no business working on anyone's house.
I called another company to get the siding done. They charged more but they were done in a week and they did a great job, totally worth the extra money. I think Brian has closed up shop and is working under a different company name now, so beware.
