I got a quote for putting in a new 650 ft chip and tar driveway and resurfacing a 100 ft asphalt driveway. There were several delays (reportedly due to weather). When a time slot became available, it was already into the cold season and I was told that chip and tar could not be done. We opted to install the gravel base for the new driveway and finish the job in the spring. The work on the gravel base layer was excellent; neat and professionally installed, for which I was billed and paid. However, that is far as we have gotten. It is now July and I cannot get CAPS out to complete the job. I have called repeatedly and have been given multiple reasons for the delay, and each time getting a promise to get back in touch with me regarding scheduling. Excuses have been a combination of: weather delays, major jobs taking precedence, liquid tar availability, estimator quitting, etc. These are all understandable, but I would think that in 5-6 months, you should be able to get through a 2-3 week backlog and get to my job. I even had some additional work that I wanted them to add to the project; I came close to getting someone out to look at the additional work (someone actually called to schedule a date/time for a site visit), but that also got delayed and never happened. I should mention that the person answering the phone was friendly and seemed sincere in my interactions with her. I really liked CAPs work and reasonable pricing, but getting a response from these folks is like watching rain erode a rock - it takes a little while. CAPs, if you are reading reviews, let customers know if you are not interested in doing their project; don't drag them on. You'll be one step ahead of the competition if you simply communicate with your customers.

Bill came out with his daughter Lacy and gave me a complete, professional estimate.  I got two other estimates and Bill was the most competitive by far.  It was clear that he had decades of experience in addition to a sterling reputation on Angie's List.  My drive is a challenge; long with a fairly steep grade, circle at the top, areas that needed total replacement and two portions that co-join with concrete.  Bill got the job.  Within two weeks, Joey, his operations manager and six workers showed up ready to roll.  In a day and a half, they worked non-stop in withering Tennessee heat to totally repaved and replace portions of drive.  The end result is terrific.  I could not be more pleased with the work they did.  All were courteous and hard-working professionals.  If I had other asphalt work, Construction Asphalt Paving Service would be my first and only candidate for the job.   

EXCELLENT.   Billy was kind and prompt.  Very dedicated to ensure we were happy with job, understood our expectations and exceeded them.  We plan to have them redo our entire driveway later this year!

I called around the middle of March to get an estimate on getting my driveway expanded and repaved with asphalt. They were quick to come out, and on March 15th they gave me an estimate for the job.  I wanted to get more than one estimate, so I contacted a few other companies.  On April 19th, I called them back and informed them that we decided on their company and are ready to get the work done.  They informed me that it would take "a few weeks" before they could begin the project.  After many calls and e-mails to their company, they finally came out and did the work on June 12th.  Two months is a lot longer than "a few weeks" and much longer than what I had expected.  For 3 weeks in a row, when I called the company to see when they would be coming out, I received the response that "due to the weather" they are running "a week behind".  During the 2 months of waiting, they never initiated a call or e-mail to me to inform me of what was going on or when I could expect them to arrive.  The work that they did on the driveway was pretty good, but their lack of communication and professionalism was very disappointing.

They stayed late the first day of prep and showed up the next day at the time they said they would and completed the job. Nice work.

Crew was very professional, very careful with surrounding trees and flowers. I am very pleased and have received several compliments from my neighbors.

During concrete removal and preperation on Friday, rained out.  Returned on Monday and completed the job.  We are very

satisfied.
