Very competent contractor with excellent sub-contractors...addressed concerns as project unfolded...roofline was difficult to tie into, but framers knew what they were doing...project took longer than expected, but with product it was worth it. Contractor stayed in touch keeping us updated as to daily schedules.

Dealt with Gerald Martin who was recommended by Wilson's Tree Cutting Company that had worked on the property prior to our purchasing it. He was a little higher than other quotes, but was available when we were there. So we hired him to build a wheelchair accessible ramp to the existing deck and to replace a couple of cross beams that did not match the cabin. We made it very clear that the ramp needed to match the deck -- stain, pickets, board size, etc. Half way into the project, he increased the price by $800. He first tried to not build a rail. However, since the County said it would not be wheelchair accessible without it (which was cleary stated in the contract), he tried to put a rail in without the pickets. Then because we insisted on the pickets as we had stated upfront (had to match the deck), he said it would be another $800. Since we were only there for a short time we really had no choice but to pay it. I held back money for the beams, since he did not install them while we were there. He sent pictures of the beams and said he'd be back shortly to stain everything. We made the mistake of paying him in full. For a while he told me he'd stain it this week. This went on for several weeks until he just stop answering my calls, texts, and emails. I followed up with his partner George Myers who actually built the ramp. He told me he would take care of it, but sadly he did not. We ended up buying the stain and doing it ourselves.
