He looked over all the work we wanted done, took great notes and was able to give us a firm quote within a few minutes. The price was a firm one, which we liked. There was one adjustment during the job because of a necessary but unanticipated repair to a ceiling that the previous contractor had done a substandard job on--the REASON that my ceiling had the crack along a seam and looked wavy in certain light.
The paint crew, Justin and Ruben, arrived everyday at 7 AM everyday pretty much and worked hard, paid attention to details, came up with solutions where they were needed, did a great job. Our house had a lot of work as a result of the big flood, so it is probably still not absolutely perfect, but John and the crew did touch up all over the place, peeled wallpaper ad repaired dry wall and that ceiling, painted several rooms, stained an outdoor stoop and exterior doors, caulked all over the place(because the old painters didn't finish anything, I think). One room we are especially happy with was one where the wallpaper simply wouldn't come off without destroying the walls. They skim coated and primed and painted over all that and it looks amazing!
We were very pleased with the work, the crews, the ownership and management. John didn't just bid and forget. One day he was putting on dry wall mud and was always ready to listen. He came frequently throughout the project and kept in touch.
Work conditions were not always easy, I know, we have a lot of stuff leftover from kids and family events and they needed to start a week earlier than I really had hoped, but they helped us move furniture, empty closets, were careful to cover the furniture. They did it all with respect and good humor--better than ours, I think. Doing such extensive work is h****** everyone--and we've been doing this almost since 2010., so the fact that they were easy was really a help. The dry wall dust was probably the biggest issue since it goes everywhere no matter what you do. There is not paint all over anything though.
I hadn't seen any reviews on Angie's list, but really liked John when he came to do the quote and I decided to take a chance. Glad we did. So now there will be a review. I haven't asked for any touchup since the job was finished. There are a few places that we just missed when we were asking. Feel sure they'd be responsive. Will update if not.
