Skipper diagnosed the problem upon his first inspection of the steps. He presented me with a complete plan (including a detailed drawing of what was to be done) for correcting the problem and the lowest of three bids! He took out the existing steps, demolished the existing pad under the steps and hauled off all debris. The next day he dug six ten foot deep holes to anchor the new concrete pad. He then put rebar in the holes and tied it into the rebar in the pad; next he poured concrete in the holes and the pad. Two days later he came in and rebuilt the brick steps.
.Each day that he worked at my house, he cleaned up all debris and hauled it away. He covered my shrubs so that n landscaping was damaged.

After getting three estimates (two from Angie's List recommended contractors), we decided to go with Skipper Smotherman. Not only was his estimate the lowest price, it was the most detailed and we thought it was the best way to fix the problem. Skipper said that it would take a week and it did. His crew was very careful not to destroy any of our landscaping-so much so that they dug all the holes by hand and trucked the concrete in by wheelbarrow from the street so as to not damage our yard. They cleaned up after themselvers everyday and cleaned the new brickwork thoroughly when the job was complete. We were very happy with the work and the finished product looks great.
