"Thank you for your feedback. I am happy that your first experience with us was such a success that you came back. Obviously, your second experience with us was not. Again, let me apologize about the mix-up with the slabs. This was an honest mistake. We had African Ivory slabs on both sides of the driveway and we tagged the wrong slabs. This was a mistake that we owned up to. To make it right, we were able to obtain two more slabs from the same lot you had chosen. We know how important it is to put your eyes on the actual slab and even though we sent pictures, we still needed you to see them in person. We were prepared to recut your order and reinstall it with these slabs. We do understand that this was an inconvenience for you and would never expect you to miss work. Your sales rep would have been happy to make arrangements that would have been convenient for you. Choosing a different granite would have extended your re-install time because what you were looking at was not what we had in our inventory, would have required us to source it, bring it in, and have you come look at it to ensure you liked it before we cut it. You were told correctly that you were only charged for what was used from the slabs that were cut. With regards to how we measure, we use a digitizer. The measurements are then placed into drawings in an auto-cad program and entered in the computer that runs our saw. The saw then cuts the pieces according to the drawing. The square footage of the pieces will total what was measured with the digitizer. All jobs are done the same way and include a printout that we keep in your folder of the actual drawings and measurements. Regarding the caulk that was used around your sink, we are in agreement with you that it is unacceptable and would like to correct that issue. Please reach out at your earliest convenience so that we can determine a time to correct the caulk. Again, my sincerest apologies this experience was not up to the level of service that our customers have come to expect and should expect."
Michael Hahn arrive and said he could help. I informed Mr. Hahn this was a small vanity and asked for timelines. Mr. Hahn said, if I picked it up, I could have it in two weeks (July 20) if I was able to bring measurements, the sink, and deposit by the close of business this day which I did.
Later that week (July 9th) , Emco Williams called and said they had copied over the measurements when a copy of the check was made and would I provide the measurements again, which I did on July 10th. I asked if this would delay the delivery date. The person I talked with stated one day would not make a difference.
At 7:30 am on July 20th, I called to get a pickup time for the granite. The person at Emco Williams couldn't find the order. I called back around 9:30 am and the female who answered the phone said no order was filled within 2 weeks, the minimum time is 3 weeks and usually 4 weeks.
At 9:40 am, I called Michael Hahn. Mr. Hahn first blamed the Emco Williams administrative assistant for covering over the measurements, then said ?Bill? shouldn?t have told me two weeks (but that was Mr. Hahn's promise) then said they should have expedited the order to have it ready. Then Mr. Hahn said he would check with the owner and call me right back. I didn't hear from Mr. Hahn until almost 4:00 pm. Mr. Hahn promised the granite top would be ready at the end of the week (July 24th). I scheduled with Mr. Hahn to pick up the top Monday morning (July 27th) at 8 ,am (one week after promised).
On Sunday night around 9:00 pm , July 26th, Mr. Hahn texted me that he just checked with the owner. He wanted me to pass along that we could pick top up any time after 10:00 am on July 27th.
On Monday, July 27, 2015, at 10:00 am, My husband arrived to pick up the top. No one would go out to meet him. Finally Emco Williams administrative assistant came out and told him the guy who was to do the top wasn?t there. Emco Williams would be glad to deliver. My husband informed Emco Williams that there there would be no one there to accept the delivery. Emco Williams administrative assistant said it would be ready at 3:00 pm, which it finally was.
We ended up having to reschedule our remodeling contractor two times over this. The countertop was done as I expected but there was nothing outstanding around the product.

Everyone involved with the job, from the sales person/estimator to the installers were courteous, timely and very professional. The estimate provided was competitive with the others I had solicited. I chose EMCO Williams because they were local, had good references and have been in business for many years. The estimated turn around time on the job was 15 working days. We received a call in less than 10 days to let us know that the counter top had been fabricated and could be installed earlier than anticipated. The installers put down a protective material on which to set their equipment. They were very neat and careful.
We dealt with Mike Hahn in the Knoxville office and he was very helpful in giving us suggestions on how to reduce our cost, however we ultimately were more comfortable having them do all the work. And as a result we are very happy with the final product.
"Thank you for the very nice review. We appreciate your business and look forward to working with you in the future."
He arrived right on time and had measured and given us an exact quote within 15 minutes. Very friendly and professional. We agreed to have them do the job and made an appointment for the following week.
The two men who did our installation were also friendly and clean cut and professional. They did an awesome job and we are totally happy with everything they did for us. Our kitchen looks 100% better and we love the looks and untillity of the granite. Our new faucets and garbage disposer are a definate upgrade. When they left our house, all the old materials were gone and they left the kitchen showroom clean.
This is one of my best experiences with a contractor of any sort.
