Brothers Cabin Staining and Painting
About us
We mostly do exterior cabins, log homes, and homes. We don't usually do work for contractors, just individual cabin owners or cabin rental companies. We are very use to working for people who live out of town or those who can not be on site during the project. All our employees are drug free and checked before we hire them to insure we get only the best to work on your home. We don't want to work with anyone we can't trust. We have been in business for 12 years and always do top quality work using top quality products. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the business with more knowledge on staining log homes than us. Log homes is almost all we ever do. We can solve wood bee problems, remove mildew, make an old cabin look amazing again. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and we will not settle for anything less. Our prices are very competitive and usually lower than our competition. If you find a lower price call us back, we may be willing to match it or even beat it. That way you get expert cabin staining at the lowest possible price.

So frustrated, we let it go. However it has been only two years and the stain is flaking off all over our house and despite saying that he put a product called "Bee Off' that is supposed to keep driller bees away, we have more holes now than before the staining. I reached out to Dustin to see if he would honor his "satisfaction" warranty and he didn't even return the note. I have also contacted the BBB and he hasn't returned their request for a response yet either.
Don't waste your money on this company - you will be sorely disappointed.
I have all correspondence with them if you would like further details.
Looked good at first then within a year I noticed peeling and flaking. I contacted Dustin. He said he would send his brother out to look at the problem. His brother called me from the property (it's a vacation home) and told me he would correct the problem "soon". I offered to participate if they felt the problem was not their workmanship but he said they would fix the problem.
Weeks turned into months and after multiple voice mails, text messages and emails I have been unable to get a response from anyone.
So I call Angie's list to see if they could get the Brothers Owenby to respond to my concerns. In spite of the fact I used this contractor as a result of reports on their listing site Christian Resiak <[email protected]> informed me that since the brothers Owenby had stalled the repair past the one year threshold and I did not have a written guarantee (in spite of email documentation that the use of a more expensive product "should" give me up to 8 years of satisfaction) there was nothing Angie's list could do. They would not call the contractor, or offer to assist in any way.
So I ask myself why should I pay to subscribe to a service that leaves me to fend for myself when there's a problem.
The obvious answer is to cancel my subscription and find a contractor without them.
I have been in touch with the Better Business Bureau in TN. Hopefully I will have more participation from them.
"Thank you for the kind words and I agree our response time is something that needs improving. Spring and fall tend to be so busy I have considered using an answering service but decided they would not be useful because they can't answer any of the questions that a lot of customers have. Sometimes its just plain human error. I hear the voice mail but get busy doing something and forget about it until sometime later. Anyhow, we will work on ways of improving. Thank you again and feel free to get in touch if you ever need us again :-) Oh and for any of our potential customers ... text messages are perfectly fine by us. Sometimes we work in areas with poor cell phone signal. A text is the fastest way to reach us because it doesn't need a strong signal. Emails are also perfectly fine."
