They were professional, took time to explain our options, and helped in our decision to convert both pools to saltwater systems, which will save us money and provide a better water quality for our residents. They didn't try to add any extra charges and were great about ensuring the final finish quality was excellent. Going forward they have all our business and I just wish we would have found them sooner...it would have saved us a lot of money! The pool looks amazing and they took time to train us how to maintain it at no extra charge.

Complete renovation of the pool. Built adjacent hot tub. Redid all the plumbing for the pool, new deck, new coping, new tiles, heating unit installed, extended steps in the pool to improve access.
Team worked effeciently. Only delays in project were due to weather. Friendly staff. Kept site clean. Clayton, as team leader, communicated with me as project was under way.
Pool is beautiful, and we are excited to enjoy it for years to come.

Overall the job went very well. The project was a complete redo of my yard which included the pool services described above. Clayton Bechard owner clearly communicated when his team would be at my house, what they would be doing and if there were any delays (i.e. weather) I was notified by his office staff. Any questions I had were addressed timely either via phone call or email. Email response time was typically less than 10 minutes. Throughout the project there were several people assigned to carry out various tasks that needed to be done. Each and every person acted in a professional manner at all times. It is important to understand that when a pool liner is removed various issues can and do arise. In my case it required a complete redo of the floor. This was clearly required based upon a review of the floor. It was not an attempt by Mr. Bechard to raise cost. I was very clear that I wanted the floor and liner installation done properly with no short cuts. That is exactly what I got. The price review is marked N/A as I did not obtain multiple bids for the service. Goin Swimmin came highly recommended by another company to do my work and I went with that recommendation. I believe that I received quality service from experienced professionals. As a result, I am comfortable with the amount paid. Whether or not I could have saved a few dollars elsewhere was not relevant to me as quality and performance were most important.

First off, I was disappointed to learn that in the fine print we were directed to more expensive liners. All the liners in the initial estimate were left over factory overruns from the previous year. We were also installing a new concrete pool deck. Goin swimmin pools was to perform a pressure check on my pool plumbing to make sure the demolition did not damage the piping. Twice the pressure test was scheduled and did not happen. It finally was performed literally as the concrete truck rolled up. Had there been a problem with my plumbing the entire job would have been delayed. We had hoped to use the pool Memorial Day weekend, as promised when we were signing the contract. Goin swimmin pools took Memorial Day off. The pool business is feast and famine, they get most holidays off in the winter. Summer is their Super Bowl, common now.

The pool has been in now for about three months. It looks great. I noticed shortly after the job was complete that the installers left a lot of debris on the floor of the deep end. This concerns me because of potential holes from the pool vacuum rubbing over the gravel underneath the liner.

Bottom line: I picked Goin Swimmin because of their reputation. Based on the quality I observed, I would not employ them again. Their estimate was considerably higher than their competitor.

Update 9/2/2013: Today I spoke with the owner of Goin Swimmin pools. I was informed of a pressure test that had taken place prior to demolition taking place. This is new information to me and in fairness I am providing this update. I had some concern regarding the condition of my pool plumbing and this allays my concerns. He is also dispatching his crew to address the debris in the deep end of my pool. Given this new information and his responsiveness to this issue I am raising Goin Swimmin's grade in Quality, Responsiveness , and Professionalism. As for pricing, the owner did install a Tara liner, which is not his normal supplier, and did not charge an up charge. Price of liner install and pressure check 3500+400= 3900. Liner track replacement 625. Total cost 4525. Since I did state in initial review that Goin Swimmin was "considerably" higher I will quantify "considerably". Competitor price of liner install of Tara liner 20 mil and pressure check 3000+250 = 3250. 3250x20% (1.20)=3900 20 percent price difference.

After calling no fewer than 4 pool companies, I called Goin Swimmin, and actually got a response! Clayton, the principal servicer, was great and responsive. He came out, was on time, assessed the pool. The pool was green when we moved in, and there were lots of little concerns on the pool inspection report. Clayton went through the equipment himself, and got everything running as it should. They came back over the next few days to get the chemicals right, and to clean out the pool. I have continued to use GS for weekly pool maintenance without any problem.
The weekly services are a more expensive than I used to pay for maintenance of my pool in Southern California. But as no other pool company would call me back for an estimate (!!), I have no way to compare, and I am very satisfied that the service is getting done right and on time.

I've been pleased by the outcome with Goin Swimmin' Pool Service. We were told one thing Wednesday night when he came out but he absolutely did another with the initial down payment. I asked him to hold a check until we could get the money in the bank which he said he would but cashed it so we suffered a few expenses because of that. He claimed he didn't understand it that way. Then it got to a point that I said two weeks but it's in the hands of the manufacturer. This was last March and we got it in in the middle of June. I think there was a communication on that. The work was fine and the price was very competitive. When I called he answered even though it may not have been the one I wanted.

I needed a pool liner replacement. My liner was 8 years old, faded in
areas and somewhat brittle. Worse yet, late last summer a raccoon ate
large holes in one corner down to the water line seeking insects that
had gotten behind. I patched it OK, but knew I really was due for a new
liner. I am very knowledgeable on pool equipment and chemistry
including salt water pools - in fact as an engineer I have written
articles on these subjects. I have had salt water pools for over 30
years, starting in Houston. I have installed pumps, filters and salt
water systems for myself and friends, but I don't do liners. So after
searching the BBB, Angie's list and Goin' Swimmin's web site, I called
them.
Clayton Bechard, the owner, made the initial visit. I was
impressed with his pool knowledge and honest approach. He had a large
selection of liner samples. My wife chose a new pebble bottom design
with a 20 mil base and 27 mil walls. This new pattern had much improved
seaming technology as well, as Clayton pointed out. Clayton specified
foam in the corners behind the liner to make the corners more solid and
discourage another raccoon attack. My pool is a Lazy L, shape, not the
easiest to accurately measure, but Clayton's guys did an outstanding
job, generating CAD drawings to capture all the key dimensions for
custom manufacture of the liner, which took just over two weeks. I have
had four liners in this pool since 1982 and this is the best fit by
far.
Clayton's guys came on schedule, made the necessary
touch-up repairs to the pool base and installed the liner. After
filling the pool, they installed the necessary start-up chemicals. They
were courteous, worked hard and picked up stuff afterward.
My wife and I were very pleased with Goin' Swimmin'. We plan to have them come back in the fall to install a safety cover.

I hired Goin Swimmin after having trouble with other pool companies I had used based on their lower price. Even though Clayton wasn't the lowest bid on certain services, his reliability and quality are second to none and the prices are fair. Both he and his primary pool tech, Barry, were very very reliable in coming when they said they would. They were very thorough in the jobs they did. Even as Barry worked all day cleaning our pool, Clayton would stop by to see if everything was going well. We were hoping to get a salt system installed quickly before we had friends visit and they worked until late at night to get everything finished before the weekend for us. For the next two weeks after he installed our salt system, Clayton would drop by to see how things looked and came within 48 hrs when I had a question about the system. After dealing with my fair share of unknowledgeable and unreliable pool service people, I will be glad to stay with goinswimmin as we can trust them to take pride in the work they do and always operate in a professional manner.
