"Our records do not show any work performed or contracted with [members name]. I have never spoken with [members name]. Easy Living Construction Co. LLC does not service Plano, TX as we are located in Memphis, TN. Thanks Gary Denley"
Very average quality with very disfunctional project management . We were told this would be a simple 6-8 week job that took 13 weeks with few rain delays. ELC seems to take on more jobs than they can manage as subs were often left on the site with no supervision from ELC or their own company. This resulted in the siding, the shingles, the gutters and much of the electrical work being done incorrectly the first time resulting in a lot of reworks. The project actually failed the Collierville electrical inspection four times. On one of the reworks the painters put flat paint on top of satin paint in areas that had to be repainted so it had to be painted a third time... but only after we pointed it out.
We have owned our home for 20 years and have had four other major renovation projects done so we know none of these projects go as smoothly as you wish. There will always be some mishaps but with ELC the mishaps were more than all of our other previous projects combined.
During the course of our project we were told by ELC that the painters were being fired because of their poor work, that the electrician was being fired because of his poor work, and the ELC site foreman quit. The final check list that ELC asked that we submit to them prior to final payment contained corrections that the homeowner should not have to point out. Things like multiple holes in the sheetrock, bottom sides of window sills and trim not being painted, receptacles not being flush with wall, areas of sheet rock being painted but never sanded. These are things quality subs would have done right the first time and , or proper site management would have corrected as the job progressed.
During the job neatness was never a priority. Even though we were told the carpets and stairs would be protected by plastic it never was until my wife put it down. The new garage became the dumpster for all of the wood scraps, insulation, old sheetrock, and food containers. The pile was wall to wall to the point the workers were tripping over it. My wife and I made two truckloads trips to the landfill just to get rid of it as ELC said they would carry it away but did not. When the trash was cleared we saw the new concrete floor had so much spilled paint, liquid nails globs, and dried sheet rock mud on it that we had to hand scrap the entire floor.
All in all these seem like nice guys but I would not recommend ELC for any type of home improvement project.
"ELC regrets that the Job performed for the [member name removed]'s was not our best performance as we did fire two subs and our Superintendent resigned without notice (was being released the following week). The original time for the project to be completed was 6 to 8 weeks but the [member name removed]'s decided to finish out the Bonus Room over the New Garage which extended the job to an 8 to 10 week job. The [member name removed]'s were reimbursed $400.00 for the cleanup that they chose to do on their own accord which only cost them $40.00 out of pocket. ELC does stand on the fact that the quality of work performed is equivalent to or greater than the quality of work in the [member name removed]'s home. Their project did turn out exactly as they wanted and the addition looks like it was done when the home was built. ELC regrets and apologizes for the inconveniences that the [member name removed]'s endured. Sincerely Gary Denley CEO/President Easy Living Construction Co., LLC"
"Thank you guys, We have enjoyed building your home for you and your family to enjoy. Look forward to future projects together"
"ELC did not perform work for this customer."
