Adam's Air Conditioning and Heating

Even through this week has been the hottest week so far this summer, Adam made room for me the following day after I had called him.  I expected a long wait because I thought there would be many calls for service this week.

I have a split system for my upstairs and the furnace was replaced this past winter.  This week was the first time I turned on the air conditioner.  The compressor would not come on.  The first thing Adam checked was the furnace in the attic and found a wire that was not connected and capped off.  Connected and compressor fan comes on but no compressor.  First problem solved.  Replaced the capacitor and compressor starts.  Second problem solved.  He then checks the freon and it is low (I figured that would be another problem because since the end of last summer, the air conditioning wasn't up to par.  Third problem solved.

Adam explained and showed me everything as he was working.  He had a common sense approach to the work.  That unit is over 13 years old and he explained not to fix or replace something that wasn't broke.  I feel he is a very honest and professional technician.

Yes, ... I will call him again if any other problems occur and would definitely recommend him.

Called Adam and asked for ballpark range for fixing a leak in our older AC unit (Freon was topped up 3 years ago by a different provider).  He was very up front and recommended a repeat top-up (under $300), rather than a costly leak repair (~$1500), due to the age of the unit.  He did not try to sell us any other products or services and gave me straightforward pricing info.  On scheduling, he told me he had an opening in two days, then later in the afternoon called to say he had extra time and could come by the SAME DAY!! An hour later, we have cool air again.  Extremely quick service,  fair pricing, good communication and friendly.  When this unit finally does die, we plan to use Adam's Heating and Cooling again to purchase a new unit and have it installed.  Great small business transaction!

Adam is quick to respond to my calls, excellent at diagnosing the problem,
efficient at repair, and very reasonably priced. He is honest and
never has tried to do more than was needed. I trust his advice when
servicing older units - he always gives me a clear understanding of my
options. He is also personable and polite to my tenants, which is
unfortunately rare in service people! I recommend him without reservation.

I have been SO frustrated trying to find reliable honest air conditioner technicians. I had so many come out and all do the same thing. They said they added freon, charged me 150.00, and within no time the air would be out, again. I finally received Adam's name through a friend. He came out (the first time I needed him) and within no time had diagnosed my problem. The coil was full of and quot;yuckand quot; and he cleaned it. It was not a pretty job, but he did it and afterwards there were no more problems. I'm so mad I paid all those and quot;big nameand quot; (Prentice Alsup) companies in my area to do nothing! Some of the techs they sent out I was afraid to let in my home. The second time I called Adam was for another home and another unit. It is an older second home and came with an already older air conditioner unit. Adam came out, looked at it and said he could keep it running, but eventually I would need a new one. I chose that option since, that gave me time to prepare for the cost of a new unit. I just had the new unit replaced and could not be happier with it and the process of having it installed. Adam and one helper dragged the new unit down an extremely steep hill and took the old one away. He cleared out the spot for the new unit and set it up to keep it off the ground. The entire process took about 5 hours. Again, this was not an easy location to get to. I am so pleased with how everything was left and with the new unit. Adam is young, energetic, and works quickly. He has been doing air conditioning repair for many years and is just now branching out in his own business. He keeps busy with just word of mouth. I trust him and highly recommend him.
