Alpine Mountain Chalets

It was a nightmare. The directions to their office were incomplete and when we called on our cell phone to get more details we were treated rudely. We had contracted for a pet (a Yorkie) verbally on the phone and in writing on a signed contract we sent to the company in advance. The manager told us (my wife and I are the us, my wife handled the reservation, deposit, and was told that because it was a Yorkie that they would allow us to bring the dog and not charge us even though the cabin was not advertized for pets. There was no indication on their computer print out of our charges that indicated a pet and as we started to drive from the agency to out cabin, my wife questioned me about that and we turned around and went back to the agency to make sure we had the pet situation in hand. At that point the sales person/manager (only employee in agency at that time, not really sure her role) asked for a pet deposit and I informed her that we had spoken on the phone and there was written confirmation that we were bringing a pet and that there would be no charge. The employee said that would never happen with her company and I asked her to retrieve our file and let me show her the correspondence. She looked at a couple of papers and said I was wrong. I asked to see the file and she refused to show it to me. Now we come to why I was inside the agency instead of my wife, my wife is dependent on a wheelchair and the agency was not even close to being handicapped accessible. I asked the employee to come out to the car and discuss this with my wife, explaining why she could not come in and was told no, she wouldn't. My wife called on our cell phone to try to talk to the employee and was hung up on 3 times. I said asked for my deposit back given the circunstances and was told it was returned but we have yet to see it reappear in our account. The employee also swiped my card for the rest of the money (we originally paid half down) and was told that no further charges would be made on the card I had signed a blank receipt on, I asked for that back, as well as all our paper work and was told sorry, it had already been shredded. We had made a six hour drive to be in the cabin and were now stuck with no place to stay and a lot of uncertainty in my mind about what if any charges are going to be on the credit card account. I asked for a print out that showed we had received our deposit back and no other charges were made to the credit card and was told this was impossible to do.
