SOUTHWEST LAWNS

The first part of the service was marking where the plantings would go, and putting grass and weed killer on the lawn area. After the grass and weeds were dead, the crew returned to prepare the soil, which included layers of compost and other materials appropriate for the plantings. The ornamental grasses were planted slightly below the previous level of grass, which they explained would allow the plants to collect and absorb more water than if planted right at ground level. The first partial season's growth was wonderful, and I'm anxious to see how much larger they get this spring! I live on a busy corner though my front yard is fairly large. I wanted a visual break between the house and the street without having to wait for small shrubs or evergreens to grow, though I'll be adding more plantings as a barrier as time goes on. These ornamental grasses are fast-growing and provide a great start to the landscape layering I have in mind.

The Southwest Lawns crew did a great job and I've had NO weed growth in the area they planted, even though it's surrounded by grass. I haven't had to re-mulch or do any maintenance other than cutting the ornamentals back (last month) to maximize this season's growth.

I was very pleased with the service and level of care taken to make sure I was happy with the job.

This was the second time I had used Southwest Lawns and both experiences were very good.

Southwest Lawns is a great company. The lawn looks great and I would hire them again. I would also recommend that others use them.
