Mr. Welsh had to start with tearing everything down, and as he did so, he took photos and listed all that was done incorrectly, pointing them out to me as well to assist with any action I might take against Mr. Dalton. He knew what we have been through and helped us every way he could. Then, Mr. Welsh spoke with and worked with the city inspector figuring out what needs to be and should be done. He drew up a design for the inspector to approve for a permit to be issued. The area was prepared, cleaned out, opened up for the plumbers to work, and Mr. Welsh made himself available if the plumbers had questions or needed anything changed.
As Mr. Welsh worked, he made sure that everything was protected so nothing else was damaged and each day he kept me informed with what will be accomplished that day and into the week.
Before the plumbers came he had everything framed in correctly, walls plumbed so they could see where everything would be placed. Time was not squandered, and Mr. Welsh came back the next day to start sheet rocking the walls, correcting the faulty electrical work, preparing the walls for tiling, putting in the correct shower floor pan, painting the walls. finishing with the tiling, crown molding and baseboard - completing everything ready for the plumbers to come back and do the install. Mr. Welsh finished his last day with taking care of minor things in the bathroom to complete the job. We now have our bathroom back - - thanks to Mr. Welsh!!!
As I was often working in the house at the same time as Mike, I started asking his advice about various other things that needed repairs. In some cases, he was very gracious about advising me about how to fix things myself, and in other cases I asked him to fix them. With almost all of these jobs, I pretty much just showed or explained the problem to him and asked him to make it right, and he took it from there. Every one turned out just perfect.
All the work he did was of excellent quality. He's clearly a professional who takes pride in doing a job right. He gave me detailed, itemized estimates and bills, and kept me updated about what was and wasn't finished and his anticipated schedule for remaining work.
I had no idea (since I had just bought my place) that when he hooked up the washer that there was a bad water leak. No worries...he shut off the water - dryed up the area to protect my hardwood floor, and headed for the hardware store to pick up the supplies needed to fix that problem.
Mike went on to install my deadbolt that I had purchased on my wooden front door which has an oval stained glass window. I was concerned about it breaking but he told it should be fine - and it was. He had to shave some of the wood in the jam to make the plate fit - but Mike's forte is carpentry and he made that adjustment quickly.
All in all - I was very lucky to have discovered Michael P. Welsh, Remodeling. I do plan to call him in the future for my needed repairs and when I get the money together I plan to call him for an estimate on remodeling my kitchen.
