"Thank you for your great review! We are so glad Keith Powell Heating and Cooling met your expectations! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future!"
"This review is the direct result of a threat made to Keith Powell Heating and Cooling to either refund the service visit of $89 within the next 30 minutes or else the company would be slandered. We stand behind our work and our employee and do not feel that this situation has been explained properly. We trust that the rest of our customers and future customers will know which reviews may be truth versus slander! Our technician arrived on 7/7/20 with the problem described as 'unit was leaking-turned unit off'. Upon arrival, the technician found no filter had been installed for a lengthy period. Because of no filter, the technician found the coil extremely dirty with large junks of dirt on the coil. The technician explained that it is customary for the unit to produce water, but with no filter and the coil having the large junks of dirt, the water would have no place to go but to roll off the dirt onto the water heater below. The technician's suggestion was to clean the indoor coil. To do that properly, he would need to pull out the coil due to limited space between the coil and water heater. The technician estimated a price to pull the coil, clean it, and add freon, if needed. The customer then noted that she did not have access to water for the cleaning of the coil. At that point, the technician stated he would have to take the coil offsite to clean and then return to reinstall. The technician also stated to the customer that much of the water leaking was coming from the water heater and showed her the supply line pipe where the leak was occurring. Keith Powell Heating and Cooling offers free estimates for replacement of units but, unfortunately, our company would not be able to sustain giving free estimates for repairs. Keith Powell Heating and Cooling gladly works with our customers when issues may arise and takes pride in standing behind our work but will not tolerate being threatened...it leaves no option for resolution."
"Mr. and Mrs. (Member name), I apologize that you were not completely satisfied with our service. After reviewing your invoice and speaking to the 2 technicians that were on site 2/23/16, I would like to explain their findings. The technicians that were onsite 2/23/16 initially thought the problem was a freon issue. Because of this, they needed to get approval from you to recover and dispose of freon and then to vacuum and recharge the system. This is American Home Shield's policy since they only pay $10/lb and the customer is responsible for the remainder of the cost. After further troubleshooting, they realized the issue was not freon related and that your repair would be totally covered and you would not be responsible for any out-of-pocket charges. I do not show that you paid anything other than your warranty service fee of $75.00. The transformer and relay were covered thru your warranty company with no further charges to you. The repair was replacing a transformer and defrost relay. We strive for complete customer satisfaction and always appreciate a phone call if you are ever dissatisfied with our service. We hope we can meet your expectations in the future."
"Mr. (Member name), I apologize that you were not completely satisfied with our service on 9/22/15 and gave us an 'F' rating. We strive for complete customer satisfaction especially since we are a family owned business and depend on customer reviews to grow our business. After pulling your invoice and speaking with the technician, I would like to explain the findings. The technician initially went under the crawlspace, along with you (Mr. (Member name)), and while you were both under the crawlspace, the technician discovered the duct work laying in a puddle of water. After further examination, the technician discovered the duct work had been chewed thru and the water it was laying in was caused by cool air conditioning air mixed with hot, humid crawlspace air. The most important fact to remember was the discovery of rat droppings where the duct work had been chewed thru. After showing you, Mr. (Member name), the rat droppings with a flashlight provided by the technician, you both crawled out of the crawlspace. The technician distinctly remembers this because he then asked permission to use your kitchen sink to wash his hands, which you granted. After speaking with you for several minutes in the kitchen regarding your duct work issue, you stated you were not happy with the functionality of the zone system and how cold the upstairs area was and asked how expensive it would be to add a separate system for the upstairs only. This is the only reason a salesman contacted you. Otherwise, the technician would have just quoted a price for the duct work repair, since your home warranty company denied your claim due to rodent damage. Keith Powell Heating and Cooling is an honest, family owned business that works very hard to satisfy our customers needs and would never practice the things you have accused. I do apologize that this repair was not covered under your home warranty policy, but since we are an honest company we have a moral obligation to you, our customer, as well as the warranty company we represent, to state the truth and from that, your claim was denied."

Any way I called back when the weather changed because I knew something was wrong with the unit. When I called back they wanted to send the same company (city wide) back out. NO WAY - I asked for a different company. They sent these guys (Justin) and it was a night and day difference. I told him the problem - I thought the compressor was bad and it was not heating without turning on aux heating strips. he popped off the back of the outdoor unit, immediately noticed the capacitor was undersized and asked if I had had the unit serviced in the past. I told him my crummy story and he said he had seen several instances where City Wide heating and cooling had 'sabotaged' a system in order to get called back out. He replaced the capacitor and within minutes the unit was pumping out heat without the aux heat strips supplying supplementary heat. He also gave me some advice on cleaning the evaporator coils (which are pushing 25 years old) which should help the system. The unit is older than dirt but works great now that he changed the capacitor. When I need a new unit I will be calling these guys.

Original service 10/7/13-update 10/22/13
The list works. Service provider contacted me with the desire to make the situation right. He sent a senior tech out who was here when he said he would be, very professional and knowledgeable. All work performed as agreed in a timely fashion.
In the second, larger house, they replaced the gas furnace and the electric central air conditioning unit. Most of the ductwork had mold inside, so I also had them replace it. Again, they were prompt, professional, and easy to work with. They also did a good job of cleaning up the old ductwork, which was pretty messy. One long section of ductwork was enclosed in a dropped ceiling, and they had to tear that down and rebuild it. They did a great job of that, too. When they'd finished, I couldn't tell it had been touched. Also, I needed to move a lot of the contents of the basement out of the way so they could get to the ductwork, and it proved to be a much bigger job than I'd anticipated. They were able to provide a couple of people to work with me to help move the stuff and to haul away a great deal of stuff that needed to be junked. They did charge me for that service, but the amount was very reasonable.
Their price for the first house was so good that I didn't get additional estimates for the second, but I ended up feeling that the charge for the ductwork was a bit on the high side.
The work was scheduled promptly to fit my tight schedule and I was pleased with the execution They finished the job quickly and neatly. They did a very good job of power-washing the old ceiling material and re-using it to save further expense.
There was a follow-up problem however, involving a large stack of boards that were left in the yard after the job was finished. The Keith Powell rep told me they'd come back and get them within a few days. That seemed okay, so I went back to my home a couple of thousand miles away. A few weeks later I got a call from the next door neighbor, telling me the boards were still there and were being ruined by sitting in the rain so long. It took repeated phone calls, emails, and 3-4 more weeks before the boards were finally removed.
