He was right on time, very pleasant and knowledgeable and repaired both locks quickly and efficiently.

I rely on this company when I have serious locksmith considerations and needs, including commercially. They are excellent and I have been dealing with them for decades. The gentleman who founded the company sold it to others, but he established a firm foundation in the community when it comes to providing quality service for the money. They also did specialty work in real secure locks. They put in security locks in my son's new home. In my dealings with this company I have not been unhappy. I have had to call them on a moment's notice.

West End Lock is wonderful to work with. They took the time to be sure I knew all I needed to operate this lock and were thorough, efficient, instructive, all in a very timely manner. Highly recommend!

Initially contacted West End Lock to evaluate repair on my Bouvet lever handled mortise entry lock that had been damaged by some furniture movers last year. The lever never fully returned to its correct position after that, and we were unable to get the key to work from outside unless we remembered to manually raise the lever inside before we exited through the door. When Jeff came to evaluate two weeks ago, he took the lock out and observed that the spring that operates the lever and returns the spindle to its correct position had been broken. Since almost all mortise locks are assembled somewhat differently in their internal workings within the lock body itself, Jeff was unable to repair this and refused to charge me for this visit. In addition, he contacted Bouvet about this and was told they could not repair this but would have to replace the whole mortise lock body. After I returned from vacation, I ordered a new Bouvet lever entry mortise set online myself to replace the old unit, since there was some damage and rust on the cylinder, levers, and escutcheon. I contacted West End Lock to come out to replace this, since I was afraid I wouldn't be able to align the mortise body spindle and cylinder openings correctly myself and because Jeff had been so kind to evaluate the problem originally without charging me anything at all. This time Steve came out and made all repairs as scheduled the day after I contacted the West End Lock dispatcher. He was kind and professional and didn't take a lot of time to make the replacement, but he did take extra care to make sure that everything fit correctly and operated smoothly. He even took the time and initiative to repair the strike plate when he saw that one of the screws holding it wasn't really functioning to secure it. I was very impressed with the fact that both Jeff and Steve explained everything that needed to be done and that I wasn't even charged for the initial evaluation, although Jeff had to make the service call to evaluate. Everything has worked perfectly and looks great after Steve's installation.

It was great. The guy was very nice and handled it wonderfully.

We were very impressed from start to finish. We have an older home, and the threads for the screw holding the handle/lock hardware in the door frame had worn thin such that the lock no longer remained seated securely in the door. They were prompt, professional and explained all the alternatives in lay terms. The work was done quickly and well. We will definitely plan to call them again in the future--

See answer above! The company stuck to the estimate, so they seemed trustworthy. If you have an older house or complicated lock issues, they do not do a slipshod, quick job to get to the next job. However, I do not know how the work would have gone if James hadn't arrived, because he was a good communicator and wanted to do quality work, so it may have gone differently with another employee. So many times with service providers, when the manager comes out to determine what needs to be done, and another employee is sent out, the work does not get done the way the manager said it would. As there were many lock issues, the company transmitted the information, and the proper parts were brought to be able to get it done. Many other service providers mess up in this area, but they brought everything that was needed.
