Arrived on time with excellent workers. The sales rep had promised that if I bought a tubular skylight and called him the day the roofers were here he would come and install the skylight at no additional charge. On the day of roofing install he would not answer phone. His assistant, a trainee, had heard him promise me and she tried to contact him. No answer. So she called the manager. The manager met us here and angrily told me that they would NOT be installing the skylight and that f I had one put in he would void my warranty.
Needless to say I won't recommend them.

A friend of mine had used them so I decided to go with them. I thought their services were very good.

They are very good. Michael is great. He is a subcontractor, a Mexican that I couldn't speak to. They did their work.

They did an excellent job. The materials were top quality. Workmanship was very good.

They told us they were going to make our home (built in about 1950) look like a new home again......and they did! We have lived here for 37 years and it's prettier than it's ever been! We are very proud of it. It just makes us want to sit in the yard and stare at it's new Beauty! Even our neighbors praised it's Beauty! The color combo is perfect. The new metal roof is Beautiful. They even included staining our deck, which was wonderful b/c my husband and I are not spring chickens and that's a job that's hard for us to do.So that was very much appreciated! So we are very thankful to them for breathing new life into our older home.......it was well worth the phone call to their company!

From the biginning to the completion of the project I found Universal tp be very professional. They were ontime for all appointments and very resposive to all of my questions that came up during the project. We did have a couple of problems that came up but Universal rectified them in a very responsive manner.
Would definitely use these guys again

I like the quality of their work and the timeliness of their work. They were very efficient.

From start to finish they were prompt, clean and courteous. I had new roof within a week of making my fisrt phone call.

They did a good job on the roof, I do not know if I would use them again though. They were supposed to do some siding work for me and the gentleman that was doing it all just kind of dropped the ball and did not get back to me.

We were contacted by Universale Builders initially. We signed a contract with them in August 2011 without consulting with any other contractors. Our contract included a new roof, siding, interior and exterior painting, gutters, and window screens. We paid up front, at their request. Within two months, the roof and gutters were put on (our project manager told us the whole process would take three weeks from start to finish). The work, then, stopped. By March 2012, I'd had it with Universal and so had my lawn. They had siding delivered three different times, let it sit in my lawn for plenty enough time to kill the grass, and then would come back, pick it up, and take it away with absolutely no siding ever being put on my house. When their sub-contracted workers DID make it out to do work, they were rude, unprofessional, came and went on their own schedules, destroyed lighting and landscaping (which were never replaced by Universal), and entered my property without permission, though it was actually put in writing during the contract negotiation process to both protect my landscaping AND give notice/get permission to enter my property. Crews even left trash on my property and in the street in front of my house. My roof looks terrible and every time they sent someone out, they gave a different excuse. The project manager would assure me that they would fix it and then a different guy would come out and tell me it wasn't his fault so he wasn't going to do anything about it! No one in their office, especially our project manager, ever seemed to know what was going on. At times, he was completely unaware what was going on with my account, despite the fact that I called him often. When this situation became too much for me and at the suggestion of my homeowner's insurance, I put my foot down and demanded a refund. Our project manager, then, ramped up the cost of the completed work and tried to manipulate the numbers on a new contract. THEN, when my refund check was FINALLY delivered, it was over $500 less than the agreed upon refund. I, literally, have a contract that says that I was supposed to get a refund of a specific amount of money and the check they delivered was over $500 less than what they gave back. The project manager's excuse was that he messed up the math and the amount on the check was correct. I nearly kicked him off my property. I would not suggest this company even to my worst enemy.

Only had one issue. Nails left in the driveway and yard. I called Dan and within the hour some of his men were there and rectified the problem.

The entire experience......from start to finish......with Universal was fantastic! Their lead person, Lee Perkins, did a complete assessment of my roof, and met with my Farmers Insurance adjuster. Before he did so, i told me what he thought needed repair and that the insurance company would approve. He also advised me that, once the roof was being actually put on, there might be added cost of replacing the decking underneath....and that it would be a max of around 1300.00 if that was the case, on top of the insurance pay out. The actual amount I owed at the end turned out to be LESS than what Lee advised. Mr. Perkins was a total pro, and followed up that very day to see that the work was completed and the area was cleaned up. The next day, a quality control person came by with Mr. Perkins, and he climbed into my attic space to inspect the vents and the job his crew had done. I've never had a roof put on my house in such a and quot;painlessand quot; manner........THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!! HIRE THEM! And if you are very lucky, Lee Perkins will be your go-to guy, like he was mine. The man makes this look easy, and tells the absolute truth.
I want to also comment upon the admin staff from Universal Builders who contacted me via phone to confirm all my appointments. Such personable, engaging, and professional young people like this are hard to find in the marketplace today, and I thank you SO much for your help from the outset.

Very good. Minor leakage near chimney may have occurred before roofing had cured there. Gutter was stopped up with leaves before leaf guards put on, company resolved.

They did a great job. They are really professional to deal with and they followed through with what they did. The part of why I chose them was, I did not see any negative mark for a young company and they are also general contractors and not just a roofing company. I trusted their knowledge. The insurance covered the cost. I absolutely will use this company in the future.

Universal Builders was able to get me a more sizeable amount from my insurance agency. They sat down with me and worked out a deal to perform the work within range of what the insurance company paid me. I was so impressed with how Universal Builders of America assisted with my claim and their professionalism that I signed a contract with them to complete the work. My out of pocket expense was minimal but nothing compared to what it would have been if I had to pay for the repairs out of pocket. I would most definitely recommend Universal Builders of America for any project you may have.
