Porch Company Inc

It seemed to go well at first. The Porch Company came highly recommended by neighbors. The initial meeting in the showroom went well. We were told to pay $3000 for drawings to get the job going and we would be credited half back if we proceeded with the project. It took several weeks to just come out and measure. Another couple weeks to get initial drawings going and about another week thereafter to get a contract. Initially we were told they usually could get started in about a month or two. Later that escalated to three months. By the time we got the contract we were told the end of February next year...almost six months later to even get started. The only explanation is as follows per the designer's email: "I am sorry, there is nothing I can do about moving up a start date. The timeline has changed as I have had more than a few contracts come in over the past week for some large projects that I had been working on before yours. One of them was someone I had drawn plans for over a year ago and they called me last week to move forward. On the other, I was expecting them to want to build later next year as that is what they had originally said but they changed their minds. Both of these were not something I saw coming and will take around 2 months to build. To be fair to everyone I schedule new projects when I send out the contracts. I have been telling everyone this for a few months and apologize if I did not say it to you. The only way I can get started sooner is if the work on our schedule gets done faster than what I think. However this may be a few weeks not a few months and with heading into the winter, things seem to never get done ahead of schedule. "

The process went very well, Nancy and her team were great to work with. We made changes on the fly and which they were able to accommodate. The Porch Company provided a Quote and details of what they would do, started on time and finished on time, it took three months. We have been extremely happy with our Porch and have spent a lot of time with it. I highly recommend the plastic drapes, keeps everything in the porch safe and the temperature down in the winter time.

They were turn key and professional all the way. They were excellent. It was expensive but it was worth it. They did a great job.

They were fantastic from the initial consultation, and design work through the whole process they have been one of the best contractors that I have ever worked with.  I had seen 2 other porches that they had done and the quality of their work made me choose them.  I live in a historic area with a lot of restrictions and the architect has been very creative and they just blend in well with asking me a lot of questions with what I want and what I think and offer a lot of suggestions.

It went outstanding. Excellent across the board! They just recently followed up to make sure we were still satisfied.

It is exquisite. They did a great job.

Very professional design and build. Cad drawings of proposal helped a lot.  Workers were very conscientious and respectful of existing landscaping. workmanship top notch.  Price was probably a little higher than most but definitely worth it.

The whole project went very well. Nancy (the owner) did an outstanding job explaining the process and designing a porch that would become our favorite room. The whole project took about 6 weeks. The craftsmen and women were very friendly and prompt. The work site was kept clean and neat. As we got into the project we made a couple of changes and these were either and quot;no problemand quot; or and quot;great ideaand quot; from Nancy and the crew. The fireplace made the room usable year round and we love it.
The new front porch railings gave our home a unique look and the craftsmanship was second to none.
We have recommended The Porch Company to several of our friends including one that just completed their project.
Nancy's husband made lots of wonderful photographs of our porch just after we decorated for Christmas and gave us 8 by 12 copies. There is a photo of our porch on their web site.

We only wish we had started this project sooner.

They did a horrible job. They used an expensive wood that they did not install correctly. It warped within 3 months and another contractor came in and said the decking was not installed correctly. When I contacted The Porch Company, I talked to Nancy Moore and she came down herself and said it was fixable. Unfortunately it was not fixable. I had to have the outside decking replaced instead. The whole experience with their professionalism and personnel who came out was not the best and I would not use them again.

I went to Nancy Moore at The Porch Company and told her that I wanted to have a screened porch designed and built on the other side of my family room. Nancy listened to my preferences as to ingress/egress and designed a wonderful porch which I accepted and they began work on it within a couple of weeks.

To the President of the Porch Company: People say you get what you pay for. In the case of The Porch Company, you actually get much more. You get a design that "works", you get professionals that care about doing it right, you get a project that comes in on time (except understandably when zero degree weather moves the calendar) and you get a finished product that exceeds expectations! We received all that from The Porch Company and have never worked with a contractor that takes such pride and interest in making sure their customer is satisfied - from the design drawing to making sure every light bulb works. We would be remiss if we did not single out Kim for her talent and carpentry skill, Dan for his oversight and personal touches to the project, and Audrey for keeping everything straight and even willing to put some elbow grease into the project. The electrician, painters, and even those people we never saw behind the scenes all came together in a coordinated effort to make things happen appropriately. We, of course, love your design which blends perfectly with the house and land and adds a new dimension to our living environment.From beginning to end, we have been thrilled with your work and now have a unique porch to prove it. We would welcome you using us not only as a reference, but should you have a special client. and they would like to view our porch in person, we would welcome their visit. We know you receive thanks and compliments all the time, so this is not a unique letter, but for us this was a very unique experience that surpassed what we had anticipated. We sincerely appreciate the efforts and skill of The Porch Company and thank everyone who worked on our project for their contributions to enhance our home with such a wonderful addition. It went great, I would highly recommend them. They were punctual, completed the job in the time frame they gave me and they did a great job.

From the very 1st call I made until the last conversation I had with Nancy, building this porch was the best experience ever! The Porch Co is the most professional, creative, easy to work with company I've ever come in contact with on any level, and if I ever build anything else, I will call them 1st. And our porch is our favorite spot in the house. In fact, I'm writing this from the porch now. It's just beautiful, and not like anyone else's porch. They let you know each step of the way what to expect, they are never late, they are never dirty, their people are super nice and wonderful craftspeople. Nancy came up with a charming design for our little cottage that I never would have thought of in a million years, and the porch looks like it's always been there. (The house is 75+years old and pretty "rustic".) I am so glad they built our porch!

They kept all appointments and gave me a quote. Took aprox 3 weeks for the project to start, but they started when they committed to and finished on time. They were very professional, kept work area clean. Project only took 4 days. I had one area where the new portion did not marry up to the old as I would have liked, they came back out and fixed it to my satisfaction.

The came out and they gave us a price they have been working hard. The company dedicates themselves to one project at a time, so the time goes by very quickly. The are very professional.

I got design proposals from this and one other company. This design was much more innovative and eye-catching, and addressed some specific challenges for this house, it's placement on the lot, and existing landscape. The price was much higher than the other company but we loved the design and were impressed by their portfolio of complete projects. We were given advance notice of the specific crew that was to do the work. The project manager was on site most days and easily reachable; this should be a big consideration for any potential customer because I have had projects in the past in which getting hold of the contractor and getting them to return phone calls was a big frustration. The materials and workmanship were first rate; they responded quickly to last minute "tweaks," and they worked steadily every day until the project was finished. A concern did arise about the quality of the flooring which they acknowledged and agreed to address after it has more time to weather.

I do not think Nancy is a trained architect but she has a good eye and she's so creative. She does great sketches and she is very helpful. She is always there when she needs to be. She is really helpful if you want anything changed. She is flexible and easy to work with. We were really pleased with this company and I also want to note that the contractors themselves were really great too.

Porch Company was very pleasant to deal with. They did a good job and we are very satisfied with the end result.

I would rate the Porch Company as an above average business. The staff was very attentive, responsible, creative and responsive. They worked with me in creating a space that met my needs. I felt that they did an excellent job.
