I first contacted Mrs. Nelms back in May to arrange a time to have my love seat reupholstered and to get an estimate for cost and the amount of fabric I'd need to buy. She gave me the estimates for both over the phone after we discussed dimensions and style of the sofa, number of pillows, skirting, etc. She told me they were working about four weeks out and to contact her again in mid June to see if she could accept the sofa then to begin the job. I purchased the fabric and contacted her again at the agreed-upon date, and she needed an additional week to finish current jobs, so I took the sofa in the following week, which was early the last week of June. Mrs. Nelms completed the job in only a week and contacted me to let me know it was ready for pick up, and I picked up the love seat July 3rd. I was completely astonished at the beautiful workmanship and quick turnaround time for the job. Both Mrs. Nelms and her son who works with her were personable and wanted to make sure we were pleased with the work. The love seat looks better than new with the new fabric. There were no "hidden" or surprise charges after the initial estimate, and the only addition to the original estimate was for the tax, as expected, and which the price shown here includes. I would without reservation recommend Nelms Upholstery to anybody who needs quality reupholstering at a fair price. I had also wanted a slipcover made for a chair, but Mrs.  Nelms told me that she doesn't do slipcovers, and she knew of no other upholsterers locally that did. Nonetheless, for upholstery, I don't think I could have found anybody else I'd have liked better. We did take the sofa in and bring it back, but that was not a problem for us. I'm not sure if they offer a delivery and pick up or not.

When I got the furniture home, I discovered that they had overstuffed each item which made them very uncomfortable. The cushions don't fit correctly on the sofa and even after five months each item is still overstuffed and uncomfortable.

Perfect

I called Mrs. Nelms and gave her the dimensions of my window seat. She told me how much material to buy. I asked her about the foam, and she suggested 3-inch thick foam for the project. She asked me to make a pattern for the window seat, but I had the foam cut to the exact dimensions so she didn't need one.

I contacted Nelms after researching on Angie's List. The business is very close to home so I stopped in one afternoon and showed them pictures of the 2 living room chairs I wanted recovered. At the same time I was able to see some finished pieces they had done for others and was pleased with the quality of work I saw. They gave me a price for recovering the chairs. I asked about fabric; they told me how much I need for the job and suggested a fabric store in town - The Fabric House - for the best selection and price (which it was). We determined a time schedule and the in-hand date for me to have the chairs finished, True to their word, they were completed on time and look terrifc. The pattern from chair to chair is identical in placement - we could not be happier. Reupholstering can be more expensive than buying new, once you add the fabric itself into the equation, but if you have a piece you love from a comfort aspect, reupholstering is the way to go.

Did a very good job, I asked that the stripes be the same on all the seats and the did wonderful making that happen.

They told me when they would be able to start working on it and how long it would take once they began. They actually finished it before the time indicated. I was extremely pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of Mrs. Nelms and her son. I would definitely use them again.

Its a Mom and Pop business. We purchased the material and took it to them. They worked in a timely manner and they were ready when we picked them up. They are professional and would have delivered if needed to be. I am satisfied with their work.

When I called they were two weeks out. It took approximately two yards of fabric each. They picked up my chairs after two weeks and delivered them four days later. They charged $170 per chair.

This is a mom and pop type company. They are very honest and take great pride in what they do. I'm very happy with the work they've done for me.

Nelms Custom Upholstery was hired to cover a very large sofa. Nelms did a great job. The completed sofa looks great and I would definitely use them again.
