I called Mr. Mover Nashville when our home sold. They came out to our house and gave us a free estimate. We had two estimates from other companies but felt very comfortable with the way Jason (from Mr. Mover) explained their service and policies. He was very knowledgable and offered us a "not to exceed" amount. We like using smaller, locally owned businesses and their office was fairly close to us. On the day of our move the movers arrived on time, went over the paperwork and explained everything thoroughly. They packed our dishes, china and silver from the dining room and china cabinet. They wrapped and packed everything efficiently and thoroughly. We were impressed with the way they used pads to protect our doors, floors and stair rails. They used pads on all of our furniture before they took it out to the truck. The guys finished packing and loading the truck a little quicker than we had anticipated, so we were happy about that. They held our furniture and belongings in their storage warehouse for close to a month. That gave us time to close on our new home and have our floors refinished. We scheduled Mr. Mover to deliver our belongings this past Saturday, August 23rd. The office (jason) called Friday afternoon to confirm our arrival time and address. The next morning (move-in-day) the movers called to let us know they were headed our way and once again confirmed our address. Once again, they arrived on time, went over the paperwork and had us show them where everything went. They padded the doors, floor and the stairway and unloaded everything exactly where we wanted it. They even put the beds together, hooked up the washer and dryer and left us plenty of room in the garage to park both cars. When we unpacked all of the dishes and china, we were pleased that everything made it safely with no breaks or damages. We are happy we used Mr. Mover Nashville and will use them again. We have already referred this company to some friends who are moving next month.

People were very friendly; however the packers had no professional experience in packing.  We are a military family who have moved many times, so we know the difference between professional packers and packers hired off the street.  Examples of poor packing included bundling glassware all in one package rather than providing individual separation between the glassware.  We also had two Kinkade's we asked to be put in wooden frames - they were packaged in normal cardboard.  We had numerous other items, like lamps and antique pieces that were improperly packed.  At the completion of our move, we made a list of broken, damaged items, took pictures of each items, and researched fair market replacement cost.  The only item not listed was the cost of repairing a 100 year old antique roll-top legal desk.  We have not found anyone able to give an estimate yet.  There was also a dinning room chair, that Jason Champion, the owner, took back to fix or replace.  We mailed this list off, along with our pictures, to Jason.  About a week after this, I called Jason to ask him to give us a status.  He said he had not reviewed the information, but would.  For three weeks we attempted several times to contact Jason, but he would not return our calls.  After another week, I tried again to no avail.  We then submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.  The cost of damages for everything, other than the desk, was approximately $2,000.

We were moving across town and contacted a few companies for quotes. The hourly rate was reasonable and they were available, so we booked them.  Overall it was a decent experience. They were very careful with our stuff.  Two issues: they were about 45 minutes late and seemed to take longer than necessary to make the move (most of the day to move 900 square foot house fully packed with no stairs).

The moving service took from 9 am until 4 am.  I told them it would be a big job and to arrive by 8am but they did not.   It was a big job so we had two trucks and four men. It took 5 hours longer with this crew than a similar one that moved us out. They took an hour long lunch that they claimed was 30 minutes and then disappeared around 10:45p and couldn't be reached.  The owner said their cell phones were without power.  At around midnight we started moving boxes ourselves just to get them finished but the owner disappeared as well.  When I called about the disappearing crew and the time, he said he doesn't move customers even though he did come move our piano.  They damaged my wall moving furniture and chipped the glass on a very expensive coffee table.   I spent 30min arguing with the owner about service and time. We have tried to reach the owner about the coffee table but he has refused to call us back.  I took a risk based on poor Angie's list reviews and I regretted it. I spent a small fortune and got terrible service. Don't do it !!'

It was a great experience. They were careful, thorough, made sure what we wanted, were hard working and pleasant to work with. They were a little late but called to let us know that the drive had taken longer than expected and when their ETA would be. And knocked off $40 for the inconvenience.  I was very pleased with the service!

I submitted my request for an estimate online thorugh this site. Jason Champion replied via email almost immediately, and when I didn't find his email in my spambox, followed up with a phone call within another day or two.Rates were reasonable and setting up an appropraite date was easy.  Two men with a 36 foot truck arrived as scheduled. They were careful with my furniture and respectaful of the property.  They worked straight through and seemed very efficient .  They took the shortest rounte across town and finished my job in just over four hours.  I was quite happy with the service and the price and would use them again.

I called on a Thursday, hoping to move that same weekend.  They sent 3 guys & a 26' truck that Sunday.   The movers were on schedule, very courteous & wasted NO time moving us out of our apt. and  into our new house (18 miles away).  I highly recommend this company!  It was one of the best decisions we made during the moving process.  It helped make our transition much faster & easier!!

Almost one month prior to moving I called a local well known company that I had used before and received a quote.  I decided to move myself based on their quote.  I had just joined Angie's List and decided to search for movers and found Mr. Mover.  I called and he was able to meet my moving date and his quote came in $200 less than I was previously quoted.

I called the day prior to the move and was informed everything was on schedule.

Jason and crew arrived within the window they stated and walked through the apartment asking questions to get a good idea of the move. They loaded the truck very quickly and efficiently while protecting the furtniture. I had a few items I had not planned to take and they carried them to the dumpster for me without issue.

Upon arrival an the new location, they determined the slope of my driveway presented a risk and unloaded from the street. There were several awkward angles and tight corners and the crew navigated these obstacles without issue. Almost a week after the move, I have not found one item that was damaged during the move.

The move took about one hour longer than expected. I do not believe this reflects on the pace of the crew. I think it was simply because I had more stuff than I thought. I would recommend Jason and his crew to anyone.

I sent an email with details to Mr Mover and within 24 hrs. received an estimate of 2.5 to 3.5 hours and their rate. When I called to schedule, I was scheduled as a second move, so they explained that they could only give me an estimate, which was some time between noon and 4 pm.
Moving day: About 10:30 am, a driver called and said they had already finished their first move and were on their way to me. They arrived, looked at everything, then got to work. They put a quilt on the front doorway to protect it. Any furniture that had to be carried down stairs was wrapped in quilts and cellophane to protect it and the walls. They were quick, polite, and didn't complain about anything. At the destination, they again worked steadily without a break. The mover with the clipboard went over every charge and explained the bill to me before asking me to sign and taking my check. The move took only 2.5 hours, so the price was very reasonable. I can't say enough good about this company!
Response from Mr Mover Nashville
"Member, Thank you for your positive feedback. I'm glad your move went as smooth as it did. As you could tell, the movers really work hard padding and preparing your furniture as well as doorways and other surroundings to keep everything protected. Our goal is to move everything as Quickly and Safely as possible. When the two things can be accomplished the end result is usually a very happy customer. Thank you for your business. Please don't hesitate to call if we can be of any help in the future. Sincerely, Jason Champion 615-383-3533"

Overall the job went very well.  They are a very small local company.  I think that their staff is trained very well.  They came when they said they were going to come.  They took really good care of my antique furniture.  They moved it from a condominium to a storage unit.  They packed it on a truck.  They unpacked it and put it in the storage unit.  They took some of them here to my mom's house.  They were like three different steps involved and they were very good.  They were just so friendly and so helpful.

Chose Mr. Mover based on positive feedback from Angie's list.  On the phone, they were very professional and gave a competitive quote.  Move was set up for 5/21/2011, but no one from Mr. Mover showed up, or answered at the contact phone on the day of the move.  Wife left a message, but that message was never returned.  Given that it's next to impossible to get a mover to show up same-day I had to get a UHaul and complete the move myself.

"Dear Member, There was DEFINITELY a mistake on your end. We have not missed an appointment in 11 yrs of business. Furthermore we have NOT had any messages We have safeguards in place to keep from overbooking. We also make confirmation calls on the day prior to moves. Your last name was not on our schedule, call sheet or confirmation list. It is very possible that while you were calling around getting quotes on moves you scheduled with another company and mistakenly wrote down our name. PLEASE remove this rating and post as quickly as possible. We are a locally owned small business and take our positive reputation very seriously and work very hard to be the best in our service industry. Sincerely, Jason Champion"

It went exceptionally well. These young men knew their business, were polite and engaging. One of the things that impressed me most was these young men loved their job. They laughed and joked with each other while doing an excellent job. If folks are happy at work, they do a better job and this certainly happened in my situation.

I was told to expect their arrival between 8:30-9:00 a.m., and Caleb and Dustin arrived at 9:30. That wouldn't have been so bad, but I didn't check over the invoice as closely as I should have -- I noticed later that they charged me for a 9:00 a.m. start time. Also, based on what I described in my moving needs during the preliminary call, it was estimated that the 2-man crew should have me moved in about 3 hours -- it turned into more than 5 hours. I wish that I had supervised their work a little more closely...it seemed that the move was starting to drag out longer than it needed to be (for example, rather than trying to carry two small things at a time, they might carry one and make two trips.)
Response from Mr Mover Nashville
"Thank you for the feedback from your move. I do apologize for the movers tardiness on the morning of your move. After reading your review I went back and pulled the invoice from your move. You were not over charged! The movers wrote their start time as 9:00 a.m. (The time they left our office). Your start time is listed right above that as 9:30. If you will add your start time and your end time you will see that you were only charged from the time they arrived to the time they left. After reviewing, please go back and correct your review of our company. We take our impeccable reputation very seriously and work very hard to keep it the best in the business. Thank you for your immediate response to this matter. Enjoy your new home and please let me know when we can be of any help in the future. Sincerely, Jason Champion"

Almost every piece of furniture was damaged. The move took over 12 hours, and I had gotten rid of a few rooms of furniture. My neighbor's with larger houses and more furniture who had recently moved in or out took on average 4 hours less. They say 100 replacement offered, however that was not offered to me. Jason came out and repaired most of it. However one thing he was not able to. There were things broken and there was no replacement of those items. I found that they worked hard, but only had 1 experienced mover on the crew so that held it up and caused most of the damage. I've moved many, many times and this was the worse experience I've had.

Great! The crew (Dusty, T.C. & Jimmy) arrived when they said they would, reviewed the agreement with me and it was exactly as Jason had explained it when I first called Mr. Mover. They immediately went to work and had all the equipment needed for this move. When the last box was unloaded and placed inside the house they stopped the clock and fiqured what I owed them. They were very careful with everything and eager to please.

I found Jason's information on Angies List and called based on his ratings. I was impressed with his professionalism on the phone and the fact that I called on Monday hoping to move on a Friday and he was able to accommodate the quick turnaround time. I thought his rate of $120/hour for three movers was reasonable, and he was kind to give us a flood discount because we had to move because of May's flooding in Nashville. Based on other reports, I expected the drivers to be late, and they were. They did not arrive at the first location until 8:30 a.m. but they called to tell us they were on the way. When they arrived there were only two movers (not three) and they gave me a discount of $90/hour instead of $120. Overall the workers worked hard and were careful with furniture. The entire move took about six hours.

Good experience overall. Jason called me right back after I left him a VM. The guys came out on time and worked hard the entire time. We had an interesting move with a Uhaul that we loaded up and drove to Nashville and a townhouse in Nashville that they had to move from scratch. Both were consolidated at our new home. The guys were VERY friendly and helpful but they are by no means professionals. They have all the tools, handtrucks, and pads they need but they are cheaper because these guys aren't full-time movers and are generally filling holes in their work schedules. They handled everything extremely carefully and didn't damage a thing. I would definitely use them again for a future move because they are significantly cheaper than the others we looked at and did a great job.

I had originally told Jason a few days before the move that there would be 100 boxes plus the furniture but since rain was forecasted that day, I went ahead and rented a uhaul and moved most of the boxes the day before. They had mentioned it should only take 2-3 hours for the move and I rented 3 guys and 26' truck at $120/hr. First of all, they came late and I didn't get a call from Jason until after 9am when they were supposed to be there. I understand they had been busy with helping with the flood and he said the night before they had worked real late and my moving day was the next day, Friday. So when they did finally get there it was 10:30am when they clocked on. Since they had been so late I had moved most of the boxes in the garage so it would be easier loading. Let me say I've never hired movers before so this is my first impression. I don't know if it was because it was Friday or if they had worked too hard all week but they moved slow. I understand that they wrapped all of the wooden furniture and that I had some heavy pieces and stairs were involved in half of the furniture but in my opinion it could have went faster. Plus some of them were taking personal calls discussing weekend plans which didn't seem professional to me. The main guy told me it should take 2-3 hours for what they had to do after he looked at everything and said it would be a lot faster unloading then loading but it took them 3.5 hours to load and then 3 hours to unload because they wrapped the blankets when they were unloading which took more time. Also, they moved slow. They broke the knob on my washing machine and couldn't fix it. They used my tape and didn't ask me. I don't know what they would have done if they hadn't of had the tape so I didn't understand why they weren't prepared either. The main guy hurt his hand and went missing for awhile as he walked to my neighbors looking for a bandaid. Sorry but I would think in this job you get hurt or you should where gloves (which he wasn't) and so he wasn't very happy when he got hurt but again, they weren't prepared. I can see that moving would not be an easy job and I'd hate to do it myself but I was paying them to do this and it just felt like they were not in any rush to get done. Jason did come and fix my washing machine but the day he was supposed to come, he didn't call or return my calls and never showed up so when I called him the next morning he did come out then. Also I gave them B's because I've never had movers before so maybe this is what I should expect but next time I'll try someone else and see if I have the same experience. They did do what they were supposed to do and overall the guys were friendly enough so I did tip them since they did me a service and were there all day. Also I did receive a discount by being an Angie's List member so that was good too.
Response from Mr Mover Nashville
"Thank you for using our service and leaving feedback. Let me start by saying I am very troubled with the fact that you feel you had a bad experience with our moving service. Once again I apologize for their tardiness the morning of your move, we had worked late the night before with some flood moves so I allowed them to meet later than normal, please accept my apologizies. Your move was completed within our estimated time of 7-8 hours, the lead-man was simply quoting 3-3.5 hours to load the truck. Im sorry the lead-man cut his thumb, actually a nail sticking out the bottom of the couch punctured through his thumb. Our first aid kit was out of band-aids and he didnt want to take a chance on getting blood on your furniture or in your home. During the summer gloves cause excess sweating and will cause heavy furniture to become slippery and hard to manage especially when stairs are involved and provide no protection from nails or staples in furniture. As far as pads taking too long...All furniture is padded and wrapped to protect your belongings and protect your home, this does take a little time but has to be done becaues we are liable for damages to your belongings and home. Id rather receive a negative comment for protecting your furniture than receive one for not protecting your belongings : ) Our goal is to protect your belongings and your home and complete your move as quickly and safely as possible. Im very sorry that your tape was used without your permission! I was told by the lead man that he thought it was ours and he thought one of the other men brought it in. And.....When we spoke of me coming out to replace the knob on your washer, I let you know the knob was ordered and suppose to arrive on a certain afternoon. I was going to call and schedule a time to install the knob..Im very sorry for any miscommunication. I did however arrive and install the knob the day after it arrived. I do sincerely apologize if you feel you received service infurior to your expectations, we do appreciate you using our service and I feel that we completed your move quicker than any other moving service around and I trust that our men were carful with your belongings and professional in our practice. We hope you give us the chance to serve you again in the future. Sincerely, Jason"
