Motivated Movers helped me move on 11-12-20. They were friendly and efficient. HOWEVER! My apple MacBook laptop air did NOT make the move, and it is presumed stolen by these movers. My laptop case was packed in a box, which we opened the evening of the move, but to my dismay, the laptop did not make it into the case or the box. After 3 weeks, unpacking all the boxes, the laptop has still not turned up. The managers were dismissive of my complaint - they told me to file a report with the police, there was nothing they could do. And they stopped taking or returning my calls after the initial complaint. Because of this, I do not recommend you entrust your valuables with this moving company.

I paid this company $350.00 for three movers to simply move items from my house to the street. This turned into, what I believe to be, an unnecessary and a money/time waste. I am not happy whatsoever with the customer service level of this company. The main, on-site representative stated that they normally do not move loose/dirty items. He took it upon himself, and apparently against company policy, to use a garden rake to rake and spread a mass of loose items down my driveway. Without even attempting to clean up his own mess on my premises, he stated that he could not continue because it was against company policy. He later lied to his management on the phone with me standing right next to him. Auston told his management that we told him to stop—this is not true. We were forced to clean up the mess that he made after he left. And, if he had cleaned up the mess, they would have charged me for the time—this is all preposterous. A day later, a company manager, told me that this rep’s move of these items is against company policy. Then why did he proceed in raking the items down the driveway in the first place? And, why is management not questioning this? This guy just made a bigger mess. If this is the policy, then he should not have touched anything. And, management should have addressed this situation, which he and they did not. This company is charging me for this complete waste of time by the team that would have allowed this job to end 30 min sooner. His actions and mess even added 10 extra minutes to a refrigerator move because they could not take it down the drive. And, if he had cleaned up this mess, he would have charged me for that time. This company’s management seems to believe that what he did with this situation was proper when this is some of the worst customer service and highly blatant overcharging for services that I have experienced. After I asked the 3-person moving team multiple times to move non-loose items that I required moving. I got to the point where I just wanted to pay to leave instead of them doing very little while still on the clock at $175 per hour. While on-site, they never communicated why they did not move these items! They wasted so much time with this confusion, and standing around, and charged me for it. The moving team wasted a ton of time with me having to ask them multiple times to move items including furniture and boxed items. They waited around several times and I had to walk them through the house multiple times pointing out the same items. A day later, management told me that they did not move some of these items because of company policy—why didn’t they tell me that during the job instead of wasting my money/time? The other items were indeed inside the company policy and they should have moved them after having to tell them the first or second time and not the third. I was dealing with an eviction process on this, and I certainly did not need to deal with this! At this price, I expected a higher degree of service. Later the next day, management told me about policies that prevented them from moving items—Why didn’t the moving team tell me this in the first place instead of wasting even more of my money!? Lastly, there was an issue with the payment. He called his manager. He was dishonest with the manager when he called him as I was standing right next to him and heard everything that was said. After discounting the bill by 15 minutes, I gave him the money and said bye. He said nothing and just stormed off like a baby. Is this the level of professionalism that I paid $175 per hour for? I disagree that most items that they would not move went against company policy. The manager, Jon, intentionally ignored my complaint and just closed it. I can assure you that my complaint is more than valid. I was not treated fairly by multiple employees of this company. I wish I would never have hired this company and I cannot recommend this company to absolutely anyone. Below is the latest response where the manager ignored my complaint: On Fri, Sep 25, 2020 at 6:36 PM Nashville wrote: Michael, We have closed this complaint. Have a good weekend. -Jon N. In regards to the picture of the mess in the driveway, they stated that you instructed them to move the loose stuff from the garage to the street. The mover who began this task stated they did not want to physically handle these contents for sanitary reasons and began raking the items out of the garage until they were stopped by a tenant and told to stop. [Michael] Then why did Austin proceed in raking the items down the driveway in the first place? He just made a bigger mess. If this is the policy, then he should not have touched anything. He in fact did so. And you are charging me for this complete waste of time by your team that would have allowed this job to end 30 min sooner. Remember that I told you that Austin's mess added about 10 minutes to the refrigerator move because they could not take it down the drive because only because of Austin's mess? And, if Austin had actually cleaned up this mess, he would have charged me for that time... Do you honestly think that what he did with this situation was proper, and do you honestly think that I am being treated fairly in regards to this? As instructed by management they did not move the pile of stuff in the picture with the red cooler, chair and red trashcan etc because the items had bug infestations, soiled, moldy etc. (Motivated Movers does not allow our staff to handle items in these conditions.) [Michael] Never once did Austin tell me anything about this. He wasted my money with your company standing by and making me ask him multiple times without giving any answer as to why, or even quote any company policy, why he would not move these items. They stated that they did not move the wooden armoire because the tenant told them to not to move it until the tenant had removed there personal clothes from inside it and then the tenant drove off in a van. [Michael] Again, Austin never told me this. Had he actually done so, I would have made sure that was done pronto. This fits his profile when at end of the job that he just walked away without responding to my goodbye. Again, he wasted by making me do several walk-throughs in the house with them while they waited to point out items that they missed. And, I am expected me to pay for the extra time he forced on this job? After the movers informed management that the tenant was asking them to not move certain things that you (the customer had instructed them to) they were told by management that an officer and the tenant would need to be present when moving any of these items in question. They stated that the officers left and that the tenant did not remove the contents from the wooden armoire nor give them permission so they did not move it to the street. (without being accompanied by law enforcement, we can not move a tenants personal property against there will) [Michael] This is the first time that I am hearing this. Why are you telling me this and Austin never told me, the customer? This whole situation would have gone so much better if he was straight up with me and your management during this job. This is extremely poor customer service, to say the least. What I gathered was that the items you sent pictures of were not moved either because they were deemed unsanitary or could not be moved because the tenant instructed them not to. [Michael] And, the customer, me, is to be informed of these items and policies over 36 hours later? Any w

The movers were friendly and on time but their work was sloppy and we found scratches on brand new outdoor furniture as well as on the kitchen table as the items were not wrapped in blankets. They bounded up and down two flights of stairs with enthusiasm but they also miscalculated the final bill necessitating the owner calling next day to collect the rest. The estimate of the move was lower than the actual amount. Not going to use this company again.

Jon, Kirby and Terry were great! They arrived on time and worked diligently to move contents of 3,000 sq ft 4 bedroom house in one day. They were very polite and would gladly rearrange placement of furniture in new house as they brought it in if requested. They also moved a piano. Would definitely hire again.

Experience was about as good as you could expect. Timely, great crew, attentive leadership, very careful, worked very **** ** a very hot June day. Loaded, transported and unloaded in one day. only one item damaged, they repaired and returned it as promised. You need to give them a chance.

Ian and Cody went above and beyond during this move. They were scheduled for 2-3 hrs, but the move took about 4 hrs when completed. They were fast, efficient, flexible, and professional throughout the process. I cannot say enough good things about their work. I received a courtesy call before their arrival, and they were punctual in their arrival time. This was the first time I have hired movers, and I would not hesitate to hire them again.

It's such a relief when you find service providers that communicate well- I find this just as important as the actual quality of the service. I had to coordinate with the company to arrive at the same time as the sheriff for an eviction move. They were very prompt (much more-so than the sheriff in fact), provided clear communication throughout, and were willing to go above and beyond to satisfy. Would definitely use again.

From the initial phone call to the actual move, the employees were helpful, punctual, and eager to please. There was a confirmation phone call prior to the move date, a phone call when the movers were on the way, and another phone call when the movers were caught in traffic, but were only a few minutes late. The movers worked quickly and tirelessly in the summer heat, and up 2 flights of stairs. I worked with Christina in the office, and Justin and Ricky were the movers. I would definitely use this company again!

It was labor intensive. They were punctual, and professional. There were three of them, according to them that was necessary because of the piano. They worked very well as a team. The moved like a well-oiled machine.  I thought they were going to have problems because of the weight of the piano, and they had to go over something rather than around or beside it. All three of them were hulks. They just did it. They packed all their padding and equipment up very professionally. Before they left everything was in place. I was just very impressed with them.

Stay far away from Motivated Movers. I have moved 22 times and this was the worst experience ever. Horrible packers. Did not wrap furniture as I asked (and I had all my own moving blankets too). Did not break down furniture as I requested - so everything took more room than it should have. Basically - whatever I asked for was ignored. My couch and recliner are now ruined - since they did not pack them on their sides but instead they stacked them on top of each other with other furniture on top. Asked for 3 men, got a confirmation email that 3 men would be coming and they sent 2 - so something that should have taken 5 hours took 8 hours - costing me $200 more than it should have. I did contact John and he would only offer to fix two pieces they had broken - but only offering to repair themselves (I told the guys on moving day that the stuff was going into storage but I was leaving the state - so how can you fix it and get it back to me?) This was a horrible experience. A shame because I had been hoping they would be a good company I could use again when I came back for my stuff in a few months. But never again.
Response from Motivated Movers
"Mrs. Jaccie, We thanked you for your feedback with the BBB complaint and your yelp feedback and now your angies list review as well. We are sorry you were not satisfied with our services and any review less than an A+ in unacceptable to us. We did make mistakes during the service of your move. We did not call you back like we said we would if we could not get a 3rd man for you. For that we apologize. You said we were horrible packers, we did not pack any boxes for you. We did wrap and pad your furniture as asked, once on our truck with our pads and then again when we put your items in your storage unit like you requested. Your couch is placed on its feet because a sofa left on its end for a long period of time will become damaged. The recliner is stacked on the sofa because the unit was not large enough to sit all your items on the floor so we have to go up or you have to rent additional storage space. The same movers that were responsible for a large number of the A+ reviews here were on your move, if you read a few of them you will see some familiar names. Your move was not a 5 hr move even with 3 movers it would have been a 6.25 or 6.5 hr move and your cost would have been within $10 of what it was. Our movers did thing like make speed loads that saved you time and money because the load and unload site were less than 2 miles apart. Please see BBB response as we have offered to reimburse you the difference. We did say we would repair your mirror ourselves as it simply needs some apoxy between the glass and backing. It was not cracked or broken the backing just came apart when it fell over in the truck after it was moved to the side during the unload. Luckily it was still heavily padded and prevented any significant damage. We offered to have an onsite repair man meet you the day you returned from your travels to repair the bird house pole on site but you denied this repair as well. We take full responsibility for any mishaps that we caused before and during your move. We wish you happy and safe travels and would love the opportunity to re earn your business in the future"

As a disabled Veteran I needed help moving some very solid, heavy, wood furniture. Billy did an excellent job from Motivated Movers. It was the first time that a mover did not scratch, dent, or scrape something. I was really surprised at how quickly work was done and the care they took with my furniture, wrapping and protecting it like it was their own. Price was correct and billed on the quarter hour. Will definitely call again.
