The cost was substantially out of proportion to the amount of work done, which took all of 20 minutes. Also -- and this was my mistake -- I intended to call Bill Ragan Roofing, a company I've had previous -- and good -- experience with. Believe it or not, there are two roofing companies named Ragan in Nashville-- Bill Ragan and Mike Ragan -- and three if you count Southern Roofing, which is owned by a Rick Ragan. So choose carefully.

In summary, this went well.
I had called Mike and reviewed the issue I was having. He was busy but committed to coming out early the following week. Well, good news, I got a call from one of his guys who was able to come out that same week, and at 5:00 in the evening no less.
They quickly found the issue, showed me pictures of it that they took via cell phone and gave me a quote. The price seemed reasonable and they also inspected the remainder of my roof while they were making the repair. Thankfully no other issues but definitely peace of mind. Really like the cell phone picture idea as well. It's not like I'm going to climb on the roof...
All told, an hours work and a job well done. Would definitely consider using these guys again.

I have a hundred year old, three story house. I had called five people, and of them, four returned my calls. One of them came out, and when he saw that the roof was three stories off the ground, he said that he didn't want the job, got into his truck and drove off. One person was very professional, and he gave me a very professional looking estimate, I was going to use him, but he was the most expensive. I told him to come back in the afternoon when I got back from work, and we could talk about exactly what he was going to do. I told him that I wanted to go to the roofing supply store, and pay for the roofing myself, because a friend of mine had a terrible experience while building a car port. So I said that I would pay for the shingles myself. He didn't seem to like that idea very much, and when we came to the back, I told him that I was using these thirty five year old very expensive sculptured shingles for the roof, and that I wanted the same color, but plain shingles on my garage roof. Then he said that the quote he had given me did not include the garage, even though I had told him to include replacement of the plywood on the garage. I told him that the best thing he could do was to get in his car and go away. It was a pretty harrowing experience before I found Mike. He was a young guy, and had one helper, he came, got up on the roof and got the job done. I have never had a leak, or any problem. We have been through two sets of tornadoes, and I haven't lost a shingle. There was a real bad storm when he was partially finished with the job, it was so bad that I was in the basement with my dogs, then I heard some tapping, and I thought that something had got loose on the roof. When the winds died down a little, I went to the front and I saw his car in front of my house. I ran out in the thunder, lightning, rain and wind, I looked up and saw that he was on the roof nailing down a tarp. I shouted up at him and told him that he would get struck by lightning, and asked him to get down. He finished and got down and we were standing on the porch when I asked him what he was thinking, and he said that he was at his grandfather's birthday party when he realized how windy it was and that he had to come out and make sure that the tarp would hold. Talk about dedication, that was the ultimate customer service. I have recommended him to several people through the years.

Mike Ragan Roofing and Sheet Metal, cleaned up after themselves, and was prompt.
Was here when they were suppose to be here, did the work within the time frame, and seem to be thorough.
We had a problem later when we had a leak, and they came back out to check the problem out.

He is wonderful. He didn't charge too much and he is very honest. He personally came out and took a look, inspected it, and told his crew how to handle it. They put some added protection without being asked since it had already been damaged once. They are very easy to work with, they cleaned up their mess, and they got all the nails up so that I don't have to worry about a flat tire. I would totally recommend them and I am about to call them again. If there was a scheduling problem, I would wait still wait until he is free. They are very considerate and they even waited to come in the morning because they knew my husband didn't get up early.

Mike was on time with his estimate and below what our insurance adjuster had estimated, so price was good. His crew had to wait a few days for it to stop raining, but when started it took about 2.5 days. They wrapped up each day around 4 or so, which I appreciated. No hammering noise going into the evening like some roofers I've seen around. They did a thorough job in cleaning up, which was also important to me. I'm glad I went with Mike and can easily recommend him.

Mike had 2 crews, one for removing and disposing of the old roof, and another for installing the new roof. Both worked with amazing efficiency. They were polite and professional and Mike was always easy to contact. The work was completed in 8 days. I did find a few nails from the old roof but I think that's to be expected. My new roof is beautiful!

The final price was just $100 more than the original estimate for extra supplies that they needed. They did a professional and quality job and made sure it was done right. The foreman was friendly, polite, and responsive to my requests and quesionts.

They did very good quality work. They took care of the area so they handled it well and professionally. They were very conscientious and I thought it was a good choice. I would absolutely use them in future.

Mr. Ragan came out to check my roof where some shingles had slipped. I expected him to say I needed a new roof, but instead said it could be repaired for $225. He indicated that I will need a new roof in the next couple of years, but I was happy that I could hold off on it now. I intend to call him back when I do decide to do it. He was very prompt and responsible.

Excellent. The crew was on time each morning, and left promptly at the agreed-upon time. The project took two weeks, and the crew worked in extremely hot conditions (most days over 100 degrees). They organized their materials behind our house daily, and neatened up throughout the day. They made a good effort to protect our shrubs and flowers, and covered the a/c units as requested to protect them from nails and other debris. The job supervisor was informative and professional. The initial estimate was very accurate. We did not pay until the job was completed.

Ragan Roofing did an excellent job. They were done in three days. They cleaned up real well afterwards and made sure they had all of the nails picked up. The final estimate was close to what was estimated. I am going to hire Ragan again for another job.

I felt he was honest and hard working. I was going to hire him for the total roofing job. He just repaired the spot and told me that I could get another two years on my roof. He quoted me a price for the total roofing job which is good for two years.

Mike Ragan Roofing sent a team out to do the job. They were hard to communicate with. The people I had dealt with to get the estimate were excellent and top notch. They had great customer service and were overall nice people.
