Gardens of Babylon Landscapes

Several weeks after arriving at our new location, a bill from Gardens was forwarded to our new home in New Mexico for turning the irrigation system on at our old address. I called immediately to let them know we no longer owned the home - the system belongs to someone else! They indicated they'd go back and shut it off. TODAY, six months later, I received an email letting me know the irrigation winterization is scheduled for tomorrow. Really?!!! I called again and told someone AGAIN that we no longer own that home. The explanation was that their system is automated. No excuse! I shouldn't have had to call three times to end a contract. They may be good at gardening, but obviously additional tech training is needed to handle accounts in a business-like manner.

They did an excellent job for a fair price. They are by far the most responsive landscaping company I have worked with in Nashville. Just signed a contract for them to perform periodic sprinkler maintenance last week. We will be using them for all our landscaping / irrigation needs going forward!

The owner/manager, Mark, gave me recommendations for garden installation starting in Spring 2015.  I like his and Gardens of Babylon's commitment to organic and sustainable environmental materials and practices.
The staff that did the garden installation were great--punctual, hard-working and responsive.
However, the job was never completed (the final phase needed to be done at a cooler time of year).  I have phoned Mark the owner/manager and spoken directly with him three times.  Each time he promises to get back to me with photos for ideas for the final phase, but never does.  Always apologetic but totally non-responsive.  Very disappointing.

They were really professional in their interactions. They turned in some designs after extensive discussions with us. The job was completed without any fuss or problems. There were no delays.

My lawn went from a brown splotchy mess to beautiful, lush, green & thriving grass. I am also having them do some landscape design. Everything regarding my lawn, landscape, design, planting, trimming, sprinklers (irrigation/winterization) etc can be handled by different departments within the same company  so  each hand knows what the other is doing. The owner has been consistently accessible, even if I have even the smallest of questions . They really care about customer relations and customer satisfaction. They treat everything about my home and my lawn as if it were their own and they are very transparent about the costs -no surprises ! Now...having said that, they are a bit on the more costly side, at least for my budget BUT you get what you pay for and it is worth every penny !

Tara the architect was great to work with.  She was very good at understanding what our goals were and implementing them.  The plans and drawings were gorgeous.  The actual install was done by Cade and his crew. They were professional, detailed and super skilled. He also did the lighting installation and had to drill through my stairs and it was beautifully and seamlessly done. 
We planted in the winter and due to those two big freezes we lost some plants, GOB pulled them out and are replacing them this fall.  Everything is growing and looks gorgeous.
The garden center's work with my planters is gorgeous.  I have three out front and two out back.
I look forward to doing more projects with them in the future.
It is hard to get to them as they are busy, so expect a lot of lead time.

They were prompt. Kept me informed of schedule and once on-site, did an outstanding job. Had the right equipment and knowledge of what needed to be done. Cleaned up after job and accomplished exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend.

The G of B Designer met with me several times to discuss my thoughts on what the new design might look like - what needed to go, etc., and what my preferences for new plants and shrubs might be.  He returned with a design proposal during the agreed upon window which I was very impressed with.  His knowledge of plants enabled him to provide me with a very diverse array of flowering plants and shrubs.

G of B arranged for the removal of a large tree (and roots) that was being removed to make way for the new plants.  Work began on the promised day, and boy, did they every work hard.  The crew removed large bushes and another tree, and all existing plants. They then brought in new soil and tilled it into my dirt to provide a good start for the new plants.   They took great care to rake and remove all rocks and debris in preparation for planting.

The planting was done on the 2nd day, and the crew worked with the designer to ensure all plants were placed in the appropriate spot, according to the design I accepted.

This work was completed about 10 days ago and the designer met with me this morning to review the work and ensure the plants looked well, and that I was happy with the work done.  I paid the balance of the contract amount at the end of the meeting.

G of B acted very professionally throughout the entire process, and kept me in the loop every step of the way.  The staff members I worked with were courteous and always remembered that I was the customer.

I cannot say enough good things about this team, and I will definitely engage B of G for any future landscaping needs.

They've generally been good. A couple of no shows/long breaks between visits, but for the most part very reliable and very responsive when you call for service..

After our patio expansion in 2014, Gardens of Babylon completed some landscaping for us.  We were extremely pleased with their work.  Naturally, we called Gardens of Babylon to do some follow-on work on our patio area.  Marc, Owner, came out and we discussed two projects that we had in mind - underground drain line and privacy trees.  Marc gave us some excellent suggestions and options for both projects.
We decided to have the underground drain line completed this year.  Cade, Project Manager, called and we discussed the project.  When the project, began, we were absent.  When we returned, we were extremely impressed the quality of the work and the attention to detail.  Per our request, we wanted the area clean and absent of any indication of ground work.  Everything was done as requested!

P.S.  We will see you again with our next project.

After we discussed our Patio Expansion Plans with Mark, we were given suggestions and an estimate.  We were concerned about traffic on our lawn.  Mark ensured us that Gardens of Babylon would be very careful.  Gardens of Babylon did the preparatory work and follow-on work to perfection.  Cade, on site Manager, ensured us that our concerns would be addressed.  Cade understood our concerns and followed through on his promises.   The crew was very careful and respectful of our home.  We certainly appreciated the attention to detail.  We had high expectations and they were met.
We plan on using Gardens of Babylon for follow on work - Excellent Company...

They were a bit pricey, but they did a great job.  The crew arrived on time, they were friendly and polite, and communicating with them was simple before, during, and after the work had been completed.

Am very happy with how things have come out, although things are just barely coming to life, given that the work was done in January and it's only the end of February. (I am seeing some buds and shoots of green just starting to peek out!) So right now it's more brown than green and lush and colorful, but I'm optimistic.   
I left price as N/A because I'm not sure how to answer. $14,000 is not a small amount of money, but I have nothing to compare it to for the job. I didn't "shop" the project. Turned to these folks due to others I know who have used them and been happy with the outcome, and positive comments here.
The work didn't take too long, they seemed to be conscientious and left the place clean when they left for the day.
My only suggestion/gripe is I wish they were more assertive with communicating with me leading up to the project. Sometimes I felt as though getting answers or updates was more difficult than it needed to be. Volunteering information with a customer, while taking a bit more time on their part, would always be welcome, wouldn't it? Let the customer tell you "you don't need to share so much info" if it becomes bothersome.

Shrubbery  around front of house was overgrown and covered windows in some instances. Several of the bushes were no longer defined and had grown into each other. This limited my access to the faucet/hose behind them and I could not water new plantings. I put in a call to Mark to  describe services needed.  He came out promptly, took a look and gave me an estimate.  While I could not afford to have all the work that I wanted done at this time, he worked with me for a less expensive solution to the landscaping situation. He came out the morning of the work with the men and detailed again with me what should be done.  The men were courteous and professional and worked to make sure that I was pleased upon completion.  I would not hesitate to use Gardens of Babylon again..
