Harold is a very lovely man. He fixed my lamp in a couple days, he’s fun to talk to and make the whole experience better. I would definitely use him again or recommend him to anyone needing a lamp repair

Harold is an absolute professional and working with him was a joy. We were remodeling our home built in 1937 and the original crystal chandelier in the dining room had damaged wiring and was just dull and lifeless. Harold dissaembled, cleaned, and completely rewired it. Originally we questioned whether we should just replace the fixture. We are so glad we did not. Harold turned our ugly duckling fixture back into the beautiful swan she always was proving beauty knows no age.

Harold did a excellent job. My Mothers lamp had a broken base and after he searched several places and was unable to find the part, he made one, and added a new cord. I highly recommend Harold, he is such a nice man and had my lamp repaired In just a few days.

I contacted Harold after reading several positive reviews. He was extremely kind and very thorough when repairing two lamps for us. He installed new hardware and wiring to two old lamps. The neck of both lamps were wobbly and he also corrected that. The lamps look new and work beautifully.

The parts used were very complimentary to the original lamps. Also, the original brass and porcelain in the socket was kept in tact. The work was finished in a timely manner. Very easy to work with, and I would definitely use again and recommend.

High quality work, fast, reasonably priced. Harold restored an old family lamp that was on the verge of becoming a fire hazard. New wiring and switch match the old lamp perfectly and I now have a family heirloom I can be proud to pass on.

Harold did an amazing job! I inherited a lamp that belonged to my great-great-grandmother that needed a new cord, new wiring and new sockets. Harold was upfront about the time it would take given his other customers in line ahead of me (which he stuck to). Lamp looks great and Harold was pleasant to work with! Would highly recommend! An fyi -- he works out of his own workshop. It is not a storefront, so you will need to plan a time to drop off and pick up your lamps!

The service is excellent.  The repairs were expertly done and additional attention was paid to bring the lamps back to like-new condition.

I can't say enough glowing words about Harold. He repaired my two favorite antique lamps which I thought no one could do. They were done in one week! He cleaned them and made them look better than when I dropped them off for repair. His rates are very reasonable and more than fair. And best of all, he is a blast to talk to. There aren't many like him left, and I would shout from the rooftops how great he is at lamp repair (and what a nice man he is as well).

Mr. Cates was so nice and fixed my chandelier when it looked pretty impossible. This is a large metal chandelier- type candelabra that was on a metal stand until the light was broken off in my move. The point where the light attached to the stand had been bent and was a mess. Thanks to Mr. Cates, It is whole again and the repair job is amazing. I think Mr. Cates is magic when it comes to lamps! He did a lot of painstaking work to fix this chandelier for me and his price was more than fair.

Harold is a real craftsman. Besides being a really interesting and knowledgeable guy to talk to, he does great work. He's extremely reasonable.
