Frank was very professional with our entire project. He was polite from start to finish. He communicated with us throughout the project and we highly recommend him to anyone in need of electrical services. And he’s also very respectful. He’s a great person and great businessman.

ER electric - Frank Thaxton arrived at our house 3.5 hours later than the established appointment time. He reeked of marijuana and did not explain being late for our appointment that I had taken off work to meet him. We originally sought an electrician because the wall receptacles on the first floor bedroom of the house were not working. While waiting for him to arrive, we also discovered a power sag or voltage dip when we ran the microwave. When he arrived he was able to get our wall receptacles going and correctly reinstall a GFI switch. Once he completed this he started troubleshooting the other problem with the power dip. He spoke on the phone repeatedly with someone else to ask advice in troubleshooting the issue. Ultimately, he told us our main breaker was not fully powered and needed to be replaced because it was going bad. He asked for $1258 or 50% deposit and sent an invoice for $2518. I paid him $1,258, because he said he needed to order the main breaker and it would take a few days to get it and he would return on the following Tuesday 10/14 with the new part to complete the work. On 10/13, I followed up with him via text to ask what time he would be there on 10/14. He said 9:00 a.m. at 10:14 I reached out to ask about his arrival time. He then told me he contacted NES and they would need to unlock the meter in order to install the new breaker and that might take a few days. Later in the day, I contacted NES to ask if there had been a request for assistance and unlocking the meter at our address. They said no such request had been made. I then contacted him via text to let him know we knew had not made the request to NES electrical company and therefore we would not need his services and he should return the money we paid and that I knew had overcharged us for the legitimate work he had completed. He did not respond. This all over text and documented. I contacted another electric company and they sent two different people out to troublshoot the power sag at our house and have determined the main breaker had no problem, the issue is actually with the transformer which serves our home as well as 6 other homes in the area. I believe Frank Thaxton ER Electric, probably should have been paid about $500 for the time spent at our home even though he diagnosed this problem wrong; he did repair the wall receptacles and the GFI.
