"The project actually took a day and a half start to finish plus 2 hours for dump debris off site, all with an extra crew member. Even then we quote per project, not an hourly rate. Once we completed the project we went over the job with the customers. They had zero complaints at that time. We then requested payment as per the agreement, payment is due upon completion of the work. The customer then stated that they would need to mail a check because they have someone who pays the bills for them through an online bill pay. Accepting these terms we then left the job site, still with no complaints at that time from the customer. They messaged us later that evening saying they wanted the mailbox area mulched after all. We mentioned that this was not in the initial estimate and agreement price, but to go above and beyond we then went back to the job site for the 3rd day to mulch this area. Once completed payment was still not issued to us. We followed up multiple times for the next couple weeks and then finally received payment. We performed everything, and then some, that the detailed estimate outlined. We would have liked the customer to have been upfront about any concerns they might have had during this process, including the payment process, (as through the internet is the first time hearing about any complaints) including their decision to not pay upon project completion. We even altered company policy and customer agreement terms, to extend the payment acceptance timeline to work with them."
