General Remodeling
Scott was great. He was super busy, but once he was able to get his crews over, they were all very efficient, clean and helpful. Would work with him again, for sure.

A contractor is only as good as his subcontractors... Scott had some great ones and some horrible subs. Below I will list his subs with grades and comments about them. The grades above for Scott Dugger are an average of these.
The main reason I would not work with this company again (besides a few poor subs) is personality difficulty/differences. Scott as a contractor is a one man show. He is a big fellow with a big ego. He needs to be the big man in charge. I do believe he is genuinely a good man who is well intentioned. I am a hands on homeowner who will do as much as I can on my own, ask a lot of questions, and want to know what's happening. This was a small job for Scott. He wanted to get in and get it done as soon as possible. I am detailed, focused and was onsite everyday. I do know when to backoff and let it be, but I certainly catch sloppy mistakes. Scott knows the business and the work very well. My impression is that I did not get his 'A' team of subcontractors, nor his full attention and that I was difficult for him to navigate because I was so engaged as a homeowner - not just conceptually, but crawling under the house (where he could not go) checking the work and asking questions.
Subcontractors:
Victor Nolasco (tile work) - A - outstanding work, good communication
Wendell Beckworth (carpentry) - A - ditto
Dan Moss (structural engineer) - B - good solid work
Curtis Hartley (plumbing) - F - Had to return a few times to correct sloppy work, overcharged for unexpected work and one of his men blatantly lied to me regarding work already completed.
Raul ___? - (demo and grunt work) - D - he did whatever Scott told him to do but would cut corners if no one was watching. Very hard worker doing what no one else would do. Speaks little english. Scott holds some responsibility for his performance.
David Cook (DPC electrical) - C - Does good work but poor communication got us into a bind causing me to compromise on what I wanted.
There were a few other companies that contributed - Textures flooring, Nashville Sash and Door, Smoky Mtn countertops - that all did fine work.
