I was with Creative Alarms for 14 years. Last year we had an alarm go off in the middle of the night due to a faulty front door sensor. For around $100 they came and fixed it. A few weeks ago the same thing happened. When I examined the sensor I discovered it was the same sensor we had had all along. When I called to have it fixed, they wanted to charge me again to come fix it. I decided to look into another company with lower fees. I spoke with someone at Creative no less than three times and sent them the form they emailed me to discontinue service. Last week I received a letter from them demanding $250 to pay for my equipment because I 'violated the terms of my contract' that I apparently signed on the day of my closing 14 years ago! $22 a month for 14 years plus almost $100 per service call in that amount of time and they decided to bully me in this manner. I called my new company and they are going to come and remove the existing equipment and box it up for me to return to Creative. This is just a warning to anyone considering leaving Creative Alarms. Make sure you do everything exactly by the book or they will wring you out for every penny possible.
