CHRIS KEENAN CARPENTRY

We had sought ideas from contractors to design and install cabinet and bookcases on either side of our fireplace in the living room of our 1920's East Nashville brick bungalow.  A couple contractors submitted ideas but none of them really hit the mark.  Chris Keenan was recommended by an Architect we have been using, described as someone who would understand exactly what would be need.  We were not disappointed at all!

Chris was flexible around the times of initial (and subsequent) appointments to view.  We expressed in general terms what we needed and he submitted a plan quickly even though he expressed he had other work in front of us.  We appreciated his quick turn-around of the initial idea.  We actually had numerous exchanges via email where we tried several ideas, each time Chris responded quickly with updated elevation drawings.  We must have had eight iterations before we settled on the perfect visualization of the units.  Chris was patient and helpful through-out.

I appreciated Chris's direct manner.  He seemed to value my time by keeping our exchanges short and sweet.  His billing was straight-forward, and payment terms simple as expected.  We payed the initial installment and work began.

Due to the age of the house and dimensions of the space, the work would be entirely custom built using high-quality heavy birch plywood and maple hardwoods.  The units would be painted, with the drawers and cabinet insides finished clear to allow a natural wood beauty to peek through.  It took several weeks for the cabinets/bookshelves to be constructed in Chris's shop.  Upon completion we negotiated the installation date.

The units even looked fantastic in their primer coat as they were loaded in on installation day.  The units looked period appropriate and met our every expectation about appearance, proportion and construction quality.  Chris and an assistant installed over the course of two days.  Work started and ended when they said they would, and they were flexible with my appointment schedule during the installation days.  During the installation they kept things tidy and cleaned up each day.  They were extremely respectful of our house rules (we don't have any, but they assumed a formal protocol around bathroom and kitchen use).  I can't say enough good about the installation experience.

The once empty space, now filled, looks like it had been installed when the house was first built.  Chris understood exactly our vision, made it his own, and executed the design beautifully.  Our every expecation has been met and the results are gorgeous!

We WILL use Chris Keenan again in the future.

My niece entered into an agreement with Mr. A. Chris Keenan to rent some property. The move in date was scehduled for Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Her mother and I went to the apt. on Monday evening to help her clean prior to her moving in. When we got down there we discovered the apartment was in apauling condition. It was filthy and there were holes in the walls that had not even been patched. When she asked Mr. Keenan when or if he was planning on completing the things the he promised he would do, he left abrubtly leaving his cell phone behind. We staying and finished cleaning the apartment and left. When my niece got back to the apartment on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 there was a note attached to the outside of the door. It basically stated that he did not want to rent to her and that her belongings were out on the porch along with her uncashed check. I think he got a pretty good deal out of this - a clean apartment that he can now rent to someone else. He is very unprofessional and left my niece in a bind. She took off from work and had all these people lined up to help her. He is very inconsiderate and I would never recommend him to anyone.

I am very pleased with their work. I appreciate that they cleaned up after they were done and left the house in the same condition as when they came. Our final price was the same as the estimate that we were given.
