"We never lie to our customers. There was miscommunication but we cant take the blame for that. We were never rude or used foul language or threats about breach of contract. We regret that the customer would not come to the door when we knew she was home. When we did call we were required to communicate through a neighbor or some other intermediary. We have been doing disaster relief for over 40 years with over 100 family members doing it all over the south. We are from Texas and most of the family is there. We know that everything has to be verified with city officials before leaving debris at the curb for pickup. We did that numerous times for other customers and provided all our customers the contact information. It is standard procedure to cut debris into 5 foot sections but only when necessary depending on what government contractor is chosen to remove the debris for the city. We did our very best to communicate all this yet there were things beyond our control. We understand that sometimes our customers do not understand that at disasters the government must wait briefly to make decisions about debris removal. The reason the government wants debris left at the curb to prevent current landfills from being overwhelmed with debris. The government hired special contractors to pick up debris from the curbs for the entire community to transport it to special locations to be processed with enormous equipment that local communities do not have. We know it was unpleasant to have so much debris filling up the charming but small yard but that is what people all over Oklahoma had to live with."
