"Matt, thanks so much for your kind words! I had so much fun working with you, too! Your love of bold colors and artistic touches made this artist so happy - and furnishing your apartment from scratch offered a blank canvas. Metaphor intended : ). I so enjoyed shopping for major pieces of art with you and having those pieces be the inspiration for our color schemes. I wish you much joy in your bright and happy home!"
"Thanks so much, Lina. It was so nice to meet you and help with paint color choices, furniture placement and decor tips and helping to choose light fixtures. Good luck with your reno. With your great taste, I know it will be your dream home!"
"Thanks for your lovely review, Rebecca! Amazing what can be done remotely with emails and with Pinterest. It was a pleasure helping you freshen up and stage your terrific NYC apartment - and, yes, we had fun : ). I know that you're going to make a quick sale for top dollar! Let me know so that we can share a remote champagne toast!"
"Colette, thank you so much for your wonderful review! You deserve to live in a jewel box because you are a jewel! Small homes can be sensational and we proved that, didn't we? Being such a creative person yourself, you had lots of great ideas. It was such a fun collaboration! Wishing you the best of everything in the beautiful home that you now cherish!"
"Thanks, Ken. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife and providing comprehensive information on how to convert your present guest bathroom with Universal Handicapped design elements to get it ready for your mother to come and live with you."
"Ms. Day B, thank you, it was nice meeting you, as well. I did look over your pins before our meeting and before I arrived was thoroughly acquainted with your ultra-colorful, thinking way out of the box design sense, which we discussed. I told you I was excited to work with you since my training is in theater design and I am an artist as well as a designer and thought your project would be fun. We did spend a good deal of our 2-hour consultation in your kitchen since the renovation of it was the most costly and complicated part of your project. I did several layout sketches and gave you lots of practical tips and advice as well as creative suggestions. I did the same for your bathroom, offering advice based on my years of experience making suggestions that would be practical and beautiful. When we went into the 2 remaining rooms, I did ask you questions to try to understand what you wanted help with and how you envisioned using the rooms and did offer ideas, one of which you seemed to love ( the added piece I described for over the headboard), but it seemed like you had your own ideas and that you were not entirely open to hearing too many of mine for the two bedrooms. I did not know if you were overloaded at that point (which happens and I try to be sensitive to).I think I might have disappointed you with some of my more practical advice since it would have precluded a few of your more whimsical ideas that I felt would not be easy or comfortable for you to live with. I am very into both form and function and my clients appreciate my honesty. Yes, I agree that not all designers and clients are a good fit. I am sorry that we didn't connect creatively in the way that you were hoping for. That seldom happens in my work, since I love working in all different styles and go the extra mile to assess each client individual style to help them achieve a beautiful look that feels just right for them. I send you my best wishes and hope that you found someone to help make your dreams come true."
"Thanks so much, Julia! Was delightful working with you to create a charming, super functional cottage kitchen to go with your charming cottage. We managed to eke out every ounce of possible storage, did we not? : ) And, all of my favorite bang for the buck solutions kept us right at your budget. Yay! Enjoy your lovely kitchen!"
"Thank you so much, Eden! I had the best time collaborating with you on your beautiful unique home! It's so exciting to work on a historic, Mid-century Robert Anderson design, keeping the spirit and art of his vision, while updating it to reflect your family's needs and specialness."
"Joan, what an honor to help you to create a safe and happy place for you to do your important work with teens. Doing it remotely, through Pinterest, emails and phone calls worked out greatI Thanking your very kind self for your very kind words!"
"It was such fun working with you, Chris! Glad I convinced you to open your cupboards and store room because we found many treasures to re-purpose. And, of course, it was exciting when your home sold so quickly! Thanks so much for your kind words - and, the pizza!"
"Thank you, Carrie! So much fun to work with another artist. I feel like we're creating art/design together. And, then there are your amazing, curated finds from yard sales and your original art! Always inspiring and honored that you choose me."
"Takes a calm, easy-going person to know one, Danielle. : ). Thanks so much for the opportunity to work with wonderful you on your beautiful Tudor home and for this sweet review!"
"Ted! Thanks so much for taking so much time to detail our work together. What a supreme pleasure to work with you on these various projects!!! Yes, it's, indeed, amazing to get such beautiful results, virtually. And, your offer to fly me to Vancouver next year to work with you and Ira on the rest of your home is one that I will, certainly, not refuse!"
"Wonderful working with you as well, Lauren. Your wonderful smile makes every room even more beautiful! Such fun working with Jeff on his elegant man cave. Thanks for this review and for the opportunity to work with you on your fab house!"
"Carol, thanks so much for your very kind words! It is always such a delight to work with you and Gary. I know that you are already enjoying your beautiful new home and wish you many years of happiness there."
"Kathy, thank you so much for your kind words! Honored to have been a part of re-imagining your home. We managed to have some good fun with, at least, 500,000 of the million decisions. (Only had to talk you off the roof that one little time). I loved how engaged you were in the process, soaking up design principles and becoming somewhat of a color expert along the way. Wishing you both many years of happiness in your very special home"
"Thanks so much, Karin! It is an honor (and so much fun) to work with one of Nashville's top real estate agents! So glad that your client finally agreed with your pleading for her to make cosmetic changes in the house. What a difference the right paint colors and some updated fixtures and light staging made! Looking forward to doing lots more quick sales together!!!"
"Thanks so much for your kind words, Alissa! It's a joy working with you both. The soft green paint color we chose for the living area makes you go, "Ah..." when entering your home. I loved helping to find just the right frame and place for all of your beautiful art and reimagining your breakfast nook with some simple cosmetic changes. And, my favorite unique touch was the Arts & Crafts Era custom border I painted in your powder room. Continuing to work our way through your home, little by little, is an ongoing pleasure!"
"Thanks so much for this wonderful review, Alan! Was such a joy working with you and your lovely wife to restore your beautiful, historical gem to it is original grandeur - while updating it with modern amenities. The opportunity you gave me to add all of the unique artistic touches was a great treat for my creative soul, as well! An honor to be a part of this unique historical preservation/design project!"
"Thank you, Leah! Was such a pleasure collaborating with your creative, delightful self! I love how receptive you were to some of my more out-of-the-box ideas, like painting the light-filled library black. Arranging each bookshelf with your plethora of books in different formations and in different colorways and interspersing plants and beautiful baskets and pottery was a sublime art project for me! And, my redesign of your fireplace mantel enhances the beautiful architecture of your living room. I hope you enjoy your home as much as I enjoyed our working together!"
"Thank you for the sweet words, Nancy. Was my absolute pleasure working with you on the renovation and redesign of your master bath and walk-in closet. Replacing the small bathroom windows with a bank of large ones behind your soaker tub now opens the room up to your gorgeous, private vista! The room now reflects you - warm, with an easy-going elegance!"
