Air Comfort Heating & Cooling

I called them when we had a problem years ago mistakenly because I thought I was calling the company that we had used before. It was like a Saturday night, and the lady that answered the phone, Tammy, was, I guess she is the owner, she was at the grocery store, and they had somebody come out and take care of us. So, when we put a new system in, we used them and we've been using them ever since. They've done super job.

The company failed to deliver on what was promised, and then tried to back away from any responsibility, nor refund any money.  It was not until I threatened legal action, did I receive a return service call. The owner even tried to convince me I needed to buy a whole new unit, as mine was too damaged.   The tech they sent reversed a damper, burning out the compressor, and again, I was told it was not their problem.  It took me sending them photographs and more threats of legal action, before the owner would even send a truck out to look, and finally accept responsibility...interesting, the owner was suddenly sure he could repair this unit and it was longer necessary for (now him) to buy a whole new unit.   After doing some work, they sent me an email saying they had changed their mind and would not be following through on their plan.  This unbelievable story is captured over months of emails...very disappointing.   WB

The service tech called prior to arrival which was right on the time I was told he would be at our house earlier that morning when I made the initial call. He was professional and performed a thorough check of the system even though he figured out the problem rather quickly. He also pulled the protective panels off of the outside unit and cleaned the coils.

Another provider had promised service with a week-long delay, then canceled last-second, then forgot we were even scheduled when we called to re-schedule and said it would be another week, so we called Air Comfort. They were very helpful and made an appointment for the very next morning.
After the service technician finally found the house (he keyed in the address slightly wrong and ended up on the other side of town by accident), he was clear on what the parts were and was knowledgeable about the assembly in general, but was not certain of the best way to go with the problem since they didn't stock the parts for the gas fireplace and would have to order them, wait for them to come in, then return.
I suggested that the pilot light may be blocked and that the two sensors looked corroded and that he clean them and see if that fixed the problem. He went to work and diligently did as I asked and lo and behold, it worked. I imagine in the future it will need a new thermopile and pilot assembly, but this gives me time to order parts and have them on hand for when it goes out again in the future and, when it does, we will certainly call Air Comfort to replace them.

They have a 24 hour emergency service and I called on a Sunday morning and they could not promise me they could come out. The owner told me she would call me back by 4 to see if she could squeeze me in between 5 and 6 and then I didn't hear from her. She told me they would be here first thing Monday morning and so we went all night with the fans on. I was a little disappointed as I have been a customer all these years and they didn't try to come out and see what's wrong with it. There's was a good price but I was not too happy at the time they took to get back at me. I have always been impressed with their quality of work. I was just disappointed that they didn't come out on that Sunday. I had looked up different ones but I decided to go with the one that put the unit in. When she told me that they would be here first thing on Monday morning they called me at 7:30am to tell me there were coming and on their way out. After the whole issue when they said they would come on Monday they did come. I hope I don't need them for a while but if I have any issues I would call them. I trust them.

I called Air Comfort on the hottest day of the year, so they were quite busy with air conditioner calls. They were able to come out the same day - very helpful because of my work schedule. I had been unable to use the gas logs in my fireplace because of soot coming into the house. !!! It was getting all over everything, and I had no idea what the cause was - whether I should be using natural gas instead of propane, whether I was turning it up too high or too low... At the time they had one associate that was knowledgable about gas logs, and his name was, I believe, Shane. (I am delayed in providing this report, and I don't recall exactly). Thank goodness he knew just what the problem was (the outside meter setting), and I used the fireplace the entire winter and had no problems. Awesome!!

They gave an estimate. They did a fabulous job. They ran into more work than they had anticipated, and they did not charge me a cent more. There are no hassles. They did excellent work. I'm going to call them to have the fall service on my unit.

They did a good job. I would recommend them. I would use them again in the future.

Randy, Jerry and Franklin were terrific. Randy called before the others arrived -- on the dot. They worked effectively, cleaned up behind themselves and left me smiling!

I write this review belatedly as I wasn't originally planning to make a submission because I had little reference for this type of work but recently had to again employ this company and found their service stellar. Months after the initial installation the heat pump lost power and stopped functioning and after my initial attempts to diagnose the fault (checking breakers and fuses) I called the company. On the phone they let me speak to a technician who walked through several scenarios that all checked out and then went on to state they would make a visit. It was a snow covered Monday yet they called later and arrived promptly. After finding the problem (insulating foil had caused a short, no fault of the installation) the repair was quickly completed, explained, and covered under their warranty. It was the professionalism of this encounter that led me to reflect on the original engagement and how it has since compared to other services I’ve employed.

Wanda and Trina fit me in the day after Memorial Day holiday and kept me informed hourly until Randy Weeks and technician Claude got there. Ninety minutes later unit was a-one -- they explained everything clearly as they went. Great service!

They were wonderful, punctual, courteous, professional and the price quoted was the price I paid.

They are honest. I have used this company for 6-7 years and am very pleased. They also send reminders in the Spring and again in the Fall.
