Overall I was pleased wtih the design (a couple of cuts at the top were less than attractive, but would suffice). I was unable to be home the next day when he came to acid wash the box. I left his check in the mail box- BIG MISTAKE! The box appears to have never been washed. It looks like they tried to scrape some of the excess mortor off and damaged a couple of the bricks. It looks awful upon close review. Due to some major health issues, it took me some time, but in February, I began contacting Mark a couple times a week to get him to come back and clean the box. I couldn't get a response most of the time, and when I did, he told me he would be there on Saturday - two weeks in a row and never showed up. During the last conversation we had, Mark angerily and rudely informed me that I was 1% of his business and 99% of his headache. He said that he was working in Atlanta on a WalMart and didn't have any complaints from them. He told me that I said I was picky and could not be pleased (untrue). I said did say that I am particular and difficult to please and would be unhappy with the orange bricks." He told me that the design I picked was awful...(although I emailed it to him in the beginning and he said it was fine!). He told me the box was too big and that he was still stuck with the original brick that I would not accept. He would not let me get a word in and was yelling and talking so fast and calling me "Lady" about every other word. The conversation ended by me telling not to come near my property (which I am sure is exactly what he wanted to hear). Mark Wassel is angry and is very unprofessional. Everytime I pull in my driveway and look at this mailbox, I get upset. It may not have been a big job to him, but it was something I was so excited about and paid my hard-earned money to have done. Now I hate this mail box! My advice to you is to "Stay Away From this Contractor!
Description of Work: I contacted Mark Wassel in November 2011 about building a brick mailbox. I communicated that I knew this was a small job and understood if he was not interested. He was not busy during this time and jumped at the chance. We discussed the style, cost, color, etc. by phone and email. Mark never visited my house prior to the date of service (12/1/11). He asked me if my house brick was standard red. I said "I'm not sure." It is red. "Would you like me to send you a photo?" No was the answer. When they arrived, the brick was more orange. I told them I would not be happy with that and they did go and get brick that was more red and better matched my house. The mailbox I had purchased was a bit larger than the standard mailbox and they had to improvize with the design I selected. They finished in a timely manner and told me they would be back to acid wash it the next day.
