They picked up the mower the day I called. It was about 2 1/2 weeks before it was returned but that was actually sooner than I expected it. They had told me it would take up to 3 weeks due to the volume of work they had. The mower was repaired plus they sharpened the blades and cleaned under the deck. The guy who returned the mower patiently answered my questions. I have tried several mower service centers and this was my best experience.

Not so good! Mower belches black smoke when throttle is opened half way. The clutch problem was not addressed. I told them repeatedly about this repair. There is some sort of wheel problem that was not there before.

Brad was prompt and thorough. Also friendly.

Within an hour of my phone call, a gentleman came out to pick up my riding mower to take it in for repair. He asked me what I thought the problem might be. I told him I felt a tension spring was out of place, but that I did not know where it should go. He looked at it on the spot, recognized the problem and corrected it right there. Sure enough the blades turned without a problem. He cut the quoted price in half to look at the mower since he didn't need to take it back to the service center and took less than 5 minutes to diagnose and correct.
Fortunately, my problem was easily fixed and didnt require any new parts. I will call them in the future with any other issues I have with power tool equipment.

Service was punctual and pick-up and delivery was easy to schedule (note this was in the off-season). Price was fair.

This business does not communicate.
Two weeks after dropping off my lawnmower and not receiving an update from the shop, I called to inquire about the status. The shop informed me that the carburetor was bad and the parts were on back order. I informed them that I was not notified and was not given a quote or approval to perform the work. The gentleman on the line told me that if I didn’t want the work performed to let him know so he could cancel part he ordered.
A week later I stopped by the shop to drop off a receipt for my lawnmower. I was hopeful that the work would be covered under warranty because the lawnmower was only a year old. When I was at the shop, I asked about the status and was told that the part had come in and was being worked on.
After another week had passed, I called again inquiring about the status. I was told it was finished and I could pick it up immediately. There was no indication of when the work was completed.
During the month that my lawnmower was in the shop, I didn’t receive one phone call. Every time I called or visited, I felt more distraught than the time before.
After it was all said and done, the lawnmower works great. They did a great job on the repairs.
I am very disappointed in their lack of communication. Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer.

From the moment I called to inquire about getting my riding mower picked up and repaired, every person at Hooper that I spoke to was courteous and professional. They asked questions about the problem with my mower and let me know what kind of ballpark cost I was probably looking at in a friendly, direct fashion that did not patronize me for being a woman. The mower was picked up on the same day, and I received a call the next morning with the diagnosis and a repair estimate, explaining in detail what what the repair would involve, then commented that I could probably purcahse a good used mower for les than it would cost to get this one running again. Once I decided to not go forward with repairs, they arranged for disposal of the mower. Though the mower could not be repaired, my experience with this company was quite positive. I would definitely use Hooper Power Equipment again.
